Seriously? That's a pretty cool gig.

Modern Iconoclast 01-21-2011 05:12 PM

AG stop posting awesome 40k stuff, you're making me even more anxious to play the Dark Millennium MMO that's still quite a ways away from release.
Vettel:

1. Finished higher than Webber in 11 races out of a 19 race season
2. Got more pole positions than Webber, or any other driver
3. Won more races than Webber, and tied with Alonso for most races won
4. Retired more times than Webber and still won the championship
Yeah, but, I don't like him. He annoys me. And besides, he's got all his career to be an annoying German who wins everything, Webber could've done with a nice swansong.

Giga 01-21-2011 07:37 PM

Germans? We won't be havin' none of that. Allied countries unite against Axis racists
er
racers

Yeah, it would've been nice, but Vettel outclassed him, not to mention I find Vettel far less objectionable than most of the other frontrunners. Annoyingly, both the British drivers are dicks. Hamilton's an excellent driver, but wildly overconfident, and Button only won a title because for half a season any trained monkey could have won with his car.

Kuffuffled 01-21-2011 09:16 PM

Periphery's new vid is pretty lame.. Some things in the song that were changed were cool, but it seems even more autotuned and gayed out with the vocals

i never got TOO good at it, but it was sooo much fun while i was painting. its all i did every single fucking night.

expensive hobby, though.

Agreed in every sense. Vettel is, and to a greater extent, will be, an amazing driver; on driving skill alone there aren't many who can compete. Hamilton, Alonso, and perhaps Schumacher if he gets his head back in the game. TBH half the time I found myself more interested in the mid-pack and the new drivers. Either way 2010 was the best season I've watched since I was mega into it about 10 years ago. Can't wait for the new season, my Sundays are all boring at the moment.

Really misses the screaming imo, it broke up the monotony of the clean vocals nicely and really accentuated the heavier riff.

I used to hat playing against blood angels cause they were the only marines that could have my Orks in close combat. Stupid black rage. But I did the same, I spent a good 80% of my time with the models painting rather than gaming.
nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrds
You can talk. I can list many conversations that are waaayyy nerdier than this that we've had in the past.

Squirrel 01-22-2011 09:15 AM

I might be winning the nerd war, given i'm avoiding going to pre-drinks for someones birthday in favour or reading a book on the 6809 Assembly language.

There's more to it than that (i'm tired and irritated) but that's the current theme.

Sad But True 01-22-2011 09:21 AM

That's not nerdy that's just really, really gay.

I'm going to a party tonight where I will be the youngest person by 15 years. Also probably the only male.

All the women I used to work with are actually quite a lot of fun though so it should be a good booze-up.

Squirrel 01-22-2011 09:30 AM

Oh yeah, I forgot how we're only meant to discuss all the drinking we do.

Duh.

Right I'm going to go play a game about spaceships blowing up other spaceships and listen to Mastodon. Fully awesome.

Bruce E Kinesis 01-22-2011 09:44 AM

X3? Eve?

Neeeeeeeeeeerrrrdddd

Squirrel 01-22-2011 09:44 AM

I'll leave you and motogrifo to that.

Man i'm sleepy, totally need a nap.
X3? Eve?

Neither, although I used to play EVE. Sins of a Solar Empire, but I decided I couldn't be arsed to spend the next 6 hours in a protracted campaign so I'm going to get a kebab and drink instead.

Heh, my dissertation synth project is built around a 68000.... I know it's not exactly what you're doing but if you're looking for a decent assembler IDE, check out Easy68k, has a really awesome 68k simulator, and can split BIN files for use accross multiple ROMS if you want. That's what I'm doing - got 2 8-bit EEPROMS so that I can store 16-bit samples and shit.

Have we out nerded everyone else? :P

Bruce E Kinesis 01-22-2011 03:40 PM

I know about EEProms, although I don't personally use them

Modern Iconoclast 01-22-2011 08:53 PM

My laptop's hard drive has 50% fragmentation...jesus christ.

Kuffuffled 01-23-2011 03:25 AM

I defraged for the first time since I built my computer 1 1/2 years ago and it was at about 12%

sweboy 01-23-2011 08:03 AM

Dear guitar players,

When finger picking my acoustic guitar, the lower string are a bit too loud compared to the higher strings - can you put some little object or something on the lower strings so as to mute them <just slightly>, i mean just a little bit, a lot less muting than achieved by palm muting.

With love, sweboy

Yeah I never really do anything that fragments files much on this laptop but then again I haven't performed any sort of maintenance on it in years.

Squirrel 01-23-2011 12:14 PM

All this talk reminded me to do mine today and it was 15%; a lot lower than I was expecting. I Treat this machine like shit.

Sad But True 01-23-2011 02:04 PM

Wait is a lower % better? Let me check mine.

Squirrel 01-23-2011 02:29 PM

So i've all but landed an interview for an awesome job; two positions open with three applicants through to interview stage - good odds!

Squirrel 01-23-2011 02:44 PM

Programming :)

Sad But True 01-23-2011 03:05 PM

Excellent. Good luck dude.

Squirrel 01-23-2011 03:05 PM

Cheers man, really hope I get it; looks perfect for me and it's what I really need right now.

or a tiny bit of masking tape if you wanna cheat

Lots of acoustic players use compression pedals for this reason.

Sad But True 01-24-2011 02:23 AM

I got up this morning to take my gf to work and my car was, well, not there. Shiiiiit.

Rand the police to report it stolen (which baffled me as it's a shitpile) and apparently some asshat has rammed into mine and my housemate's cars early this morning.

Yay.

And you didn't notice? Also, the implication being that the police removed them, or what?

Oh, and sucks.

Sad But True 01-24-2011 05:18 AM

Nah we were all asleep. Yeah the police took em to motor clinic early this morning. It's all coming off the other bloke's insurance though so it's all gravy.

Apparently some guy rammed my housemate's car, annihilating the back end rupturing the fuel tank which then proceeded to leak and spill down the road underneath a long line of cars. Fire engine was out to clear that shit and the had to smash the windows out to move em out the way and stuff. But on the upside my car was FUBAR anyway; big scratches on the bonnet, dents on the roof from where we had a rave, gearbox wouldn't select 5th...

jaklyons 01-24-2011 06:38 AM

People are wankers.

Sad But True 01-24-2011 06:42 AM

Some are, but the guys at the repair place are ace, all being payed for off the other guy's insurance, our insurance stays the same, no increase in excess of no claims loss, courtesy cars all payed for from the other guy's insurance, and they're sorting it all for us. Minted.

2muchket! 01-24-2011 06:54 AM

Sounds like a sweet deal.

Mondays have turned into lazy sundays for me, cooking some pizza and watching Every Time I Die's Shit Happens DVD.

Sup wi challlll lod?
