It's gonna be in the 80s here until tuesday, when it drops down to the 60s.

I hate hot weather.

badtaste 10-04-2007 06:38 AM

Quick question.

What band could suitably be described as 'metal' and 'pop melodies'?

superpeer 10-04-2007 06:45 AM

Macabre! Although nursery rhymes might be more suitable for them.

TojesDolan 10-04-2007 06:49 AM

Opeth.

Apocalyptic Raids 10-04-2007 06:57 AM

I just ordered The Secret of NIMH, amongst some other things, on DVD, since I happened to look it up and find it being offered amazingly cheaply. Having not seen it for a while, I'm looking forward to it arriving, and wondered if it had any other fans here?

I wouldn't be surprised if this went entirely unanswered, but ah well.

I only saw it once, a long time ago, when I was babysitting, but at that time I discarded it as just another kids movie. Mind...I was babysitting.

TojesDolan 10-04-2007 11:05 AM

I don't like cartoons anymore I'm a sad, old man. :(

the2stranger 10-04-2007 11:13 AM

Cartoons are still pretty cool imo.
I hate it when they dub them though.

What's happening to the fine people of MX on animal day?

Last week I shot a short film in which a young guy gives a fairly strange monologue about goats. I wanted to inter cut this monologue with some cool shots of goats for obvious reasons. I traversed all of southern california in search of goats, but each lead I got just revealed another dead end. Today I screened the short sans goat footage.

On the walk home, a herd of goats was standing outside my dormitory.

Eh, the movie doesn't hold up nearly all that well to the book, well, because that's just how it seems to always go.

Beyond that, it's okay I guess.

/studied the story in a Kids Lit course last year.

the2stranger 10-04-2007 11:36 AM

Has anyone seen Jacob's Ladder?
I'm thinking about ordering it.

To the book, I assume you meant, and yeah that's probably true. I still really like it though. Probably largely just because I really like Don Bluth's films.

Tyler 10-04-2007 11:42 AM

I haven't seen the film all too recently, it was about a year ago, but I just remember it straying from the actual plot far too generously for me.

There are sequels to the book I think, but I haven't read any. They were written by the dude's son if I recall.

the2stranger 10-04-2007 11:42 AM

Huh?
Wassup Matt?

Damn, I feel like boozing, but there's no one to booze with.

The magic bit they shove in towards the end is a bit iffy, but mostly I didn't mind it.
There are sequels to the book I think, but I haven't read any. They were written by the dude's son if I recall.
There's a sequel to the film as well, but avoid it. It's as bad as (almost) all the other examples of Don Bluth having nothing to do with a sequel to one of his films.

the2stranger 10-04-2007 11:48 AM
It's a good movie.
I only heard about it recently, but it sounds very interesting.
And since I have some money to spend now, why not.

Tyler 10-04-2007 12:06 PM

My stomach hurts and this class needs to end.

Nostalgia 10-04-2007 12:07 PM

I thought you were going to college, Matt. I remember you posting some stuff about classes three or four weeks ago,

Kage 10-04-2007 12:08 PM

I'm tired as all get out but I have two more classes today and I still have homework to do for one of them.

But after that, it's the weekend :)
I thought you were going to college, Matt. I remember you posting some stuff about classes three or four weeks ago,
I was slacking severely and decided to drop out as to not waste my parents money, I'm gonna go to a community college in the spring.

Tyler 10-04-2007 12:10 PM

uh, I have a massive test tomorrow morning in Critical Thinking, and that class is confusing as ****.

Deth 10-04-2007 12:10 PM

wtf is critical thinking?

I skipped my last class of the day. Now I just need to casually study for a calculus test, meet Porcupine Tree and pick up some groceries.

Kage 10-04-2007 12:20 PM

Sounds like a pretty decent day. I'm gonna get through these classes and homework, then probably just veg out on Team Fortress 2, and maybe party or watch the Office later tonight.

i am the robots 10-04-2007 12:22 PM

TF2 is so damn good.

PinkFreud 10-04-2007 12:33 PM

Vince gave me a B-! Because, though I'm nice, I've never done anything outstanding.

i am the robots 10-04-2007 12:38 PM

I got a C+/B- because my posting have improved but I apparently still like bad music (totally not subjective!!1) and apparently that effects my posting?

Nostalgia 10-04-2007 12:40 PM

I got a C+ B- because I'm a metal jerk.

Tyler 10-04-2007 12:42 PM

I got Bs, because A's wouldn't fit my frame but C's would be a little gaudy.

PinkFreud 10-04-2007 12:43 PM

It Affects your posting, Matt. Affects.

I'm guessing its somewhat similar to philosophy, in the thought process any way.
