omg i've seen so many tribute albums. they are mostly awful. bluegrass, punk, symphomy (not so bad, because im used to S&M) but for the most part they suck.

yeah. As to Lars and the drum set---absolutely hilarious. Hey--I watched a bunch of tapes of concerts and found that in every one I saw, someone throws a banana peel at James...anyone else notice that? I even have a really old, pre-AJFA tour bootleg of Sanitarium, in which James suddenly starts yelling about someone throwing things at him...

Also...heh...perhaps this has already been addressed (checking 344-ish pages for it is tedious) but if it hasn't, go to stupidvideos.com...there's a clip of a bootleg there in which Kirk falls flat on his face doing a solo in mid-song....

and finally...the lack of solos on St Anger...well, yeah, a lifetime of being a guitar god would soon become less-than-enjoyable, but if you really listen to the music on St Anger, some of the guitar work is actually pretty good...like Sweet Amber and Invisible Kid (although I only payed attention to the cool vocal work on that one)....

I just need to say this.....for anyone that "hates" St. Anger or thinks it's ****....u cannot call yourself a true Metallica fan. To be a true Metallica fan, i'm not saying to have to like everything...but to put down ur "favorite" bands cd that hard, takes away your chance at being a true fan. There is my opinion, i don't love St. Anger, but it doesn't suck, you have to be a drummer to appreciate that CD anyway, c'mon, Lars hasn't played like that since Justice

I'm a die hard metallica fan, and there is a few songs off st anger that are good but the rest is complete crap, you can call yourself a true fan and still dislike an album, otherwise your a poser saying you like it if you actually don't.

Anyone who appreciates the true potential of Metallica can never look at St. Anger and say it's even somewhat good. If a band's standards plummet over the years, it's not in the fan's place to take sh*t as it comes. Fans are supposed to be critical to prevent the downfall of the music industry to such talented artists as Evanescence (had to pull that one).
