By the way where in Yorkshire are you Jake Im also in Yorkshire?

Joe 11-11-2005 05:56 PM

Ok another rule:

That was a triple post. There's an edit button at the bottom of your post, use it.

Please read the rules, about 3 threads below this one. It'll say RULES AND LINKS

Marios 11-11-2005 05:59 PM

Sorry about that Joe, I wasnt trying to annoy anyone, didnt see the edit button. Apologies.

Oops double post, must have clicked twice sorry guys.

Joe 11-11-2005 06:00 PM

It's ok. There was another one, I know, those are caused by computer effups. Don't worry about it, you can delete a post by clicking edit then delete

very well bumped thread
Well, I don't have a strong opinion on it, let's see if anyone else has something to say concerning the matter.
I feel the same.

I don't see it being a problem, but is it necessary?

Joe 11-11-2005 06:42 PM
I feel the same.

I don't know. I guess not really now that I think about it. It's really not used too much outside of that one thread and it already has a list.

3074326 11-11-2005 06:43 PM

Yeah. I'm not opposed to the idea. If you can give us a few examples of how useful it could be I'd be more favorable though.

We'll wait for the others' opinions, too. :)

Joe 11-11-2005 06:52 PM

Ok we can wait, but like I said I don't really think it's necessary now that I think about it since it's only really needed in the YSI thread.

Advertising some soundclick band.

As far as putting contact info into the rules, I wouldn't think that it is necessary. If something like that were to be done, people could post their slsk names or something, maybe.

Yea that's all I was thinking. Just like email or slsk or something. But I really don't think it is that necessary anymore

Freezing Moon 11-11-2005 07:05 PM

I wouldn't mind a list of slsk users.

I second this.

Riva 11-12-2005 02:47 AM

There's already a soulseek thread knocking round here, started by Jon (Apocolyptics Raids), I believe.

dUSK 11-12-2005 08:46 AM

Was there a large Alice In Chains thread floating around here somewhere. I'm almost certain there was, but I just cannot find it. If there is one, does anyone have a link to it?

Deconstruction 11-12-2005 10:25 AM

Is bumping considered spamming? I bumped by saying a Pink Floyd song was now playing and got neg repped. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10315823#post10315823 I thought bumping was ok if you were just trying to get the thread started when it was dead. Please correct me if I am wrong.

dUSK 11-12-2005 10:53 AM

There is a new Official Pink Floyd thread floating around. It's only a trial, if it doesn't work it will be merged with the old one. It's called, A Threadful Of Secrets. Go find it.

If the post just has what you are now playing then it is a spam post.

Instead of just saying bump...i said something somewhat related to PF.

Thanks Jom. Turns out they've already been over what I was going to bring up, so I shan't bump it. I appreciate the effort though.

A post of only "NP: Pink Floyd - Signs of Life" is spam. Threads like the pink floyd thread dont need to be pointlessly bumped, they survive just fine on their own.

I negged you for it btw.

Stormrider 11-12-2005 05:33 PM

What does it mean when a thread is stickied ?

Daven 11-12-2005 05:36 PM

It means that a thread is at the top of the page and it doesnt needs to be bumped because its stickied at the top. The thread will remain there until a mod un-stickies it, that's when people needs to bump it to keep it alive. Threads are stickied because people dont post on them very often so they wont fall to page 2 or three. Or because the thread is too important to be unstickied, like the rules thread.

Dancin' Man 11-13-2005 01:08 AM

Please ban everyone (Rice Monster, Freezing Moon, Kittens, and anyone else involved) in that thread Can a singer ruin a band for you. If we allow posting like that to go un-punished, it will continue and spread.

3074326 11-13-2005 12:24 PM

I handed out four, one day bans as a warning. The four banned users were the four who acted childish. Next time the bans will be longer.

I don't know why I didn't ban anyone when I closed the thread, but thanks for bringing it up. :thumb:

Seven Gates of Hell 11-13-2005 12:34 PM

Did you delete the thread and/or the posts? I can't even find it.

3074326 11-13-2005 01:14 PM

Jacaranda posted a link to it above Dancin' Man.

Seven Gates of Hell 11-13-2005 01:16 PM

Alright, it's not there anymore. :-\
