|
Don't make fun of Power Metal elitists.
|
Pharaoh's latest album is ARRRGGGHHH of the power metal variety too mitch
Hell yes. Great band. |
they need to come out with a new album, and i need to get The Longest Night
|
I have yet to come across a Userword post that isn't utterly retarded. Dude really needs to grow out of his 'poser this, poser that' phase.
Anyway, I've been getting into Grand Magus, though I'm not sure if that could be considered power metal. More like heavy metal or something, huh? Idk, anyway, I have Iron Will. What album should I listen to next? |
Monument
not as good as Iron Will, but definitely worth having |
Everything about Iron Will is just so damn catchy.
Thanks, I'll check out Monument. |
And after Iron Will and Monument, be prepared to be let down. The other two aren't anywhere near as good.
|
what? Wolf's Return is awesome
|
Pfft. I don't like it.
|
that makes me sad
|
Quick question.
What power metal bands have the best singers? I do not mean "what power metal bands have singers that you like", I mean "what power metal bands have the most skilled singers". For me, Rhapsody of Fire, Falconer, and perhaps Kamelot. Just looking for some new music! |
Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian.
It's coincidence that he's my favorite. The skill that this guy has is incredible. Amazing power and range. |
Hansi is excellent. So is Marco Hietala, Jarkko Ahola, Roy Khan, and my personal favorite who definitely has the best range...Daniel Heiman.
|
Pfft. I don't like it.
I think Wolf's Return is a superior Iron Will. I didn't like Iron Will one bit, though Like The Oar Strikes The Water and I Am The North almost make the album one of the best. |

wat |
Yes, thanks for the suggestions, those are all good.
Anyone heard of Matthias Blad from Falconer? |
He's good but I get sick of him easily. I prefer guys who sound more like the typical metal singer. And I don't mean that as any kind of knock on him.
|
Since were on metal singers real qick somethings been bugging me, i've been listening to a lot of Jorn Lande lately and i cant FOR THE LIFE OF ME pronounce his last name correctly, or mabye I am I can't tell, how is it pronounced?
|
Is it not pronounced like Yourn Land-eh?
|
Thats what I thought but I wasn't 100% sure :p
I finally got Nightfall in Middle Earth in m car and even though the tracks are im pretty sure are out of place it's an amazing album, i used to love "Mirror Mirror" but I think Nightfall has officially taken over as favorite song on that album, the live version floating around youtube is incredible, perfect live band. pretty excited about their new album now. |

yeah the first name is pretty easy, pretty sure it's yoo-rn or something like that (it sounds better when i actually say it :p)
|
yeah you cant really represent it without using IPA

:D |
"If you asked me with which song the number could be compared I most probably would say "The Script for my Requiem" or "And then there was Silence"."
Omg fapfapfapfap. |
Yeah, that sounds ace.
However, "we are targeting a late summer, early fall release" sucks. Can't believe how much time music albums take to make sometimes. |
Blind Guardian are right on their "4 years between albums" schedule :p
|
K, I need the most corny and lol fantasy based power metal to ever exist.

fairyland - of wars in osyrhia |
Lol, never heard of Fairyland. The name sounds incredibly homo, but this is actually not bad at all. I just hate how all these singers sound so alike.
|
Fairyland's new album isn't that bad.
Listening to new Dream Evil right now. And Rhapsody has a new one coming out in like a month. This is a very exciting year of Power Metal tbh. |
New Dream Evil is good. I didn't think much of it at first, but now I really like it.

yayyy |
Can't wait for it.
New Avantasia albums came out this weekend. The Wicked Symphony is awesome, especially the title track but I still need to listen to Angel of Babylon more. |
I really liked The Scarecrow, hopefully it's in that vein
|
Indeed.
