No, but you're more likely to like other breakbeat bands :p

Most of the best bands are more on the hardcore side, I think. I'd check out Botch, Indecision and Deadguy for a start. And I have to mention my personal favourites Zombie Apocalypse.
Ok, these bands are pretty tight but man, they're just hardcore. The new hardcore bands have pretty metal-ish guitar but still are just evolved hardcore. That's how I see them at least, and yes I like those 4 bands. Zombie Apocalypse are just great but I fail to see any metal in there.

Deadguy rule so hard.
i think the new album is even better though, even if "will you rewrite history with me" is a killer song

i hate how most people focus on "omg theyre so cool with spoken word parts and opera" when thats the least important thing to them ugh
Yeah, I know what you mean. The new album slays though. It reminds me a lot of In Flames old material.

do you listen to hardcore?

Zombie Apocalypse are definitely not straight-up hardcore, plenty of metalll in their music

i am the robots 11-08-2007 04:40 PM

I dunno dude, they sound a lot like Shai Hulud.

Concubine 11-08-2007 04:42 PM

well duh they share members

i am the robots 11-08-2007 04:45 PM

But I'm saying like, Shai Hulud's just a hardcore band, rite?

Pluperfect_Arson 11-08-2007 04:57 PM

/is wearing a Shai Hulud shirt atm
Prayer for cleansing pwns.
Well as I've said for me all these bands are just hardcore with some metal-ish guitar, and funny you say that about Zombie Apocalypse because they were the least metal-ish band of all them. And yes, I listen to hardcore but mostly old-school because I don't like much metal in my hardcore unless it's done with gusto.

i am the robots 11-08-2007 05:24 PM

Metalcore is a hybrid of metal and hardcore son. Therefore Zombie Apocalypse is metalcore, holy damn.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-08-2007 10:25 PM

Im downloading some of them at the moment.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-08-2007 10:35 PM

ok haha

i am the robots 11-08-2007 10:37 PM

Also, Intronaut's really good. They're kind of "jazzy" and "tech," but they do it well.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-08-2007 10:38 PM

I like parkway drive

i am the robots 11-08-2007 10:41 PM

Eh, you'll grow out of them when you hear how many bands of similar sound and higher caliber there are. Like Dead Man In Reno and Bridge To Solace.

Aakon_Keetreh 11-08-2007 10:45 PM

So what do you suggest? Dead Man In Reno?

i am the robots 11-08-2007 10:48 PM

Dead Man In Reno and Bridge To Solace, if you get BTS get Where Nightmares And Dreams Unite.

Dead Man In Reno just has a demo and a self-titled, and the demo is probably the best deathcore to date, but their metalcore stuff is much better, I wish they still played like they used to. :(

Aakon_Keetreh 11-08-2007 10:51 PM

Ill blog that stuff.
