First Past The Post: whoever wins most votes in a certain area gets the seat
Proportional Representation: depending on how many votes u get, ur party is awarded a proportional amount of seats relating to the % of ur votes

the 1st one means that a certain party could get 30% of the country's votes but never gain a seat in parliament, the 2nd means that every vote actually counts
Who says the majority of Americans don't question it?

Odd fact: Bush has never won the popular vote in a presidential election.
"with 52 percent of the popular vote to Democratic candidate Senator John Kerry's 47 percent."

Just sayin'.

Radiobass81 05-05-2005 03:39 PM

Paul: Thanks :).

PaulSimonon 05-05-2005 03:40 PM

Meh, he lost the popular against Gore. Kerry was an idiot though, campaigned like a dolt.

Radiobass81 05-05-2005 03:43 PM

The elections here sucked...

There are three parties here; PNP (guys who want us to become a state), who had a past governor running again. The PIP party (wanting Independence), with the same guy they have had for years, and the PPD party (wanting us to stay the same), with... some guy who is nothing special.

Now, for you to understand the stupidity and ignorance here, you have to know that, no matter what party wins, it is practically a fact that we will STAY a colony.

So... The guy from the PNP party, who was full of corrupt, lost by .5%, to the guy from the PPD, who, like I sad, is NOTHING special, but most people (unless they are the ignornant people I describe) agree with me when I say that the guy on the PIP is the best leader. The others are miles further from his knowledge.

He was one of the guys who went to Vieques to try and stop all of the US experiments and such, which was harming many people on the island, and he got arrested for it. That's how determined he is.

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 03:45 PM

I've tried it a little bit, it seems like it would be next to impossible to get it up to speed playing fingerstyle.

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 04:21 PM

would be an interesting thing to hear u try though :thumb: just resist using that thing :)

Spaceman Spiff 05-05-2005 04:21 PM

Rush should really play weekly/monthly shows here in Toronto, I mean, c'mon! This is their home!

I really want to see them live. :upset:

Thunder Fingers 05-05-2005 04:22 PM
would be an interesting thing to hear u try though :thumb: just resist using that thing :)
yeah, i got nothing better to do.... so why cant i just try it...:p is the tab the complete song?

neal_672 05-05-2005 04:26 PM

So i cna atcually post now my MSN conversations have become smaller in number...

Spaceman Spiff 05-05-2005 04:28 PM

Any tabs I've seen were not the entire song, the only full* one I've seen is the one in the tab book. There might be other ones now, but no full ones that I've ever seen on the internet.

*The one in the tab book isn't even full, it leaves out the fingerstyle part of the song.

Thunder Fingers 05-05-2005 04:30 PM

Good idea. :D

I really would like to hear it.
Plus, it could help to motivate me to learn it... it just seems so hard.
I love YYZ, it's so awesome :thumb: my dad's taking me to see Rush on their next tour :thumb:
I hope to god I actually get a chance to see Rush at some point in my life... I'm so dissapointed because when they were actually touring alot and stuff, I wasn't even born. Now, they're slowing down, and I may never see them.

Thunder Fingers 05-05-2005 04:42 PM

i might need to force the school i go to to go to see rush in london if they dont come to norway :p (they gonna have a school trip to london anyway..)

neal_672 05-05-2005 04:43 PM

My dad's seen em 3 times :upset:

Spaceman Spiff 05-05-2005 04:43 PM

I'm disappointed that since I've been a fan of them I've missed seeing them twice. :(

Pluperfect_Arson 05-05-2005 04:49 PM
My dad's seen em 3 times :upset:
I was talking to this school security guard at my old school, and I was talking about wanting to see Iron Maiden live, and he mentioned that he'd seen them five times. Just think of how sad I was when I heard that. :upset:

So, I have to make a trip up to Seattle, WA to see them live at Ozzfest.

Spaceman Spiff 05-05-2005 04:56 PM

Here's the list of Iron Maiden songs that I like/tolerate:
-Number Of The Beast
-Hallowed Be Thy Name
-Two Minutes To Midnight
-The Trooper
-Run To The Hills
-Rime Of The Ancient Mariner

I don't think that Iron Maiden's that great, but they do have some great songs, and I'd love to see them live.

That's why I must journey up to Seattle. Seeing Iron Maiden is like a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me. They'll probably be dead soon. :p
