Hey Gaslight, you got your laptop yet?

gaslight 05-05-2005 05:52 AM

No :(.

I was told I'd get it Tuesday, then Wednesday.

Now I'm told to expect it on Saturday.

Alma 05-05-2005 06:33 AM

hi all.....

good rats 05-05-2005 06:35 AM

Hey Primus 55. How's it going?

Alma 05-05-2005 06:35 AM
I'm trying to learn Birdland, it seems that it's not as hard as it sounds... well, I'm not even passed the harmonics at the start yet, but it's not as hard as I previously thought.

My only problem right now is finding where the 36th and 38th frets would be.
yes...it is pretty much pinched harmonics.

Fret the 15th on the G, then find somewhere around the pickup where u can pinch out a harmonic. From there on u should be able to the find the rest.

Alma 05-05-2005 06:36 AM

yeah not bad good rats....yourself?

man we didnt record today :( we'll have to tomorrow.

good rats 05-05-2005 06:38 AM

As long as you get the recording done you should be fine. :thumb:
And I'm pretty good. I had the day off school today.

I've only been there once, but my god, that room full of the amps is one of the greatest sites I've ever seen. And the guy that worked there was super nice as well. I told him what I wanted to play through, and he set everything up. Great service.

Alma 05-05-2005 06:51 AM

yeah....guy knows me well.

I go there like 5 times a yr and i dont even live in melb.....

I bought my fender from there...gave me like 600 off.

Bought my rig from there....got like 500 off.

I swear im going for a job there if i go to melb for uni.

Possibly going to trade in cort c4 for a curbow 6.

3 sats papers, only half the normal lunch break, and a rather unpleasant garnishing of RE :upset:

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:26 AM

Spaceman Spiff 05-05-2005 09:30 AM

Ohhhh dear SATs poor you, it must be so hard doing exams that mean absolutely nothing  Try doing AS levels mate!

jaco jr 05-05-2005 09:32 AM

i listened to some sum41 today
dont ask what album i havent a clue
every one of the first four songs was the same
god that kind of music makes me cringe, how many more root notes can you put in one album, i wonder if their bassist and hoppus had a competition
/rant about punk rock

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:33 AM
Ohhhh dear SATs poor you, it must be so hard doing exams that mean absolutely nothing  Try doing AS levels mate!
i know
and with two of the hottest girls in the year near you, one directly behind you and the otherone behind and to the right
its very hard not to turn round
imagine the distraction at gcse grrrrrrrrrrrrr

neal_672 05-05-2005 09:34 AM

Sum 41 are actually very good, their guitarist is very talented, as is the drummer. What you have to understand is root notes often fit the song so it's required to play them: have you heard Tim Commerford in the new Audioslave song? Hardly complex but it works so he does it.
try doing a BA mate

( :p )
BA?

But either way you see my point, the exams i'm currently doing are going to shape the rest of my life, whether i go to Uni or not, ultimately deciding what kind of job i get, thus salary etc are affected by it...

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:37 AM

EDIT:
to other post about sarcasm!

jaco jr 05-05-2005 09:37 AM

i havent heard the new audioslave no
and yes i agree the drums were what i listened to most, much better than the drums on a lot of stuff
but i wont go on about the rest, cos i know that music is meant to have root notes, but if you can like playing that and call yourself a bassist :upset:
/end rant for good

neal_672 05-05-2005 09:37 AM

w00t triple post :thumb:

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:38 AM

i love the solo on the new AS song. kik az

jaco jr 05-05-2005 09:41 AM

why oh why did kirk hammet stop putting solos in metallica songs?
and why oh why did cliff died, they might not have had bob rock or newstead, and i might like post-cliff metallica
when are they releasing a new album with some of trujillo's basslines? that i cant wait for
suicidal tendencies kick butt - well they did

mister_tee 05-05-2005 09:42 AM

Did anyone else find the flaming of Joz being bumped for absolutely no reason very funny indeed, or was it just me...?

I was....

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:43 AM

apparantly Kirk will solo on the next album, he just said that he didn't feel as if the album needed them. I agree that not every song needed a sick az solo, but not to play one was bit strange
anywho, i'd love to hear dome funky bass added to metallica, it might reinvigorate them?!

fatbandit 05-05-2005 09:43 AM

COURSEWORK! **** SUCKING, ****ETY **** ****ING PIECES OF REGURGITATED (why had it been eaten in the first place?) ****! I HATE TEACHERS! I THOUGHT I'D ****ING FINISHED IT, AND NOW I HAVE CORRECTIONS? MY ANGER IS BEING VENTED (badly) THROUGH A STICKY SHIFT KEY AND FAILING TO BE ARSED TO GET AROUND THE SWEAR FILTER.

That sentence makes no sense. If Cliff hadn't died, then there wouldn't be a post-Cliff Metallica.

And there should be a new album this year or next.

neal_672 05-05-2005 09:44 AM

It's ok Chris, you're nearly done...

ElKapitan 05-05-2005 09:44 AM

i giggled like a school girl and nearly wet my panties
the fact he didn't actually say anything other than 'bump' was just beautiful
Wintermute's treatment of him made me laugh to, like he was talking to a petulant dog
