And idk, I like how frantic the opening riff is, it's really Cannibal Corpse-y.
Its better than Converge I'll give you that!:p |
No way near as good.
|
you guys are alright...you need to improve the range on your lows, towards the end they get grating. The riffs are solid but the song is too short, using refrains tastefully in a way that makes sense isn't a bad thing.
Paraphilia
http://www.myspace.com/paraphiliasoontochange
i expected to hate this but it's really not bad. i'm not much for the high scream vox, but as a whole that song was pretty cool. the drummer is a beast. and i checked out some Evil Incarnate a couple days ago, they are great. NP Satanic Victory |
As a whole my vocal performance on that song isn't that good... you can hear how strained my voice was at the time when my voice cracks from doing MID RANGE screams.

That was medicore
|
You say every song has a bad vocal performance. I've never seen you say that you like your vocals on a song.
|
I like my vocals on this song, unfortunately it's a joke song recorded drunkenly:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/7/9/1252962/black%20iron%20final.mp3 And I like how my vocals turned out for the majority of this: http://www.myspace.com/karlmarxband
That was medicore
Keep in mine that Ross and Nazim were 15 when they wrote those songs, and their vocalist was some random kid who got on stage and started screaming at one of their shows. |
Haha, the Karl Marx band was pretty good.
|
Drunken fun usually is good.
|
Are you always drunk dude?
|
I'm iller.
you program some ill blast beats bro |
Are you always drunk dude?
When I record well usually. |
When I record well usually.
Isn't that not optimal for the vocal chords? |
From what I understand, alcohol doesn't do anything to your chords
|
Isn't that not optimal for the vocal chords?
Not really, no. It tends to dry them out, however I tend to drink absurd amounts of water and I eat raw fruit. |
So I'm pretty sure that one of my best friends is good friends with the guy that now drums in Aborted.
|
Cool. My one friend almost got picked to drum for the Black Dahlia Murder. They said if he was four years older they would've taken him.
http://www.myspace.com/bataandeathmarch His band sort of sucks. :/ |
*obligatory plug of my radioshow*
I'm on the air right now, so tune in http://wusc.sc.edu NP on air: God Dethroned - Macabre World |
God Dethroned are awesome. The Lair of the White Worm is a great album
|
Yeah, I've been enjoying The Toxic Touch for a while now.
NP on air: Excruciate - Beyond the Circle |

Ravenous or whatever is better though. |
besides TLotWW, i have Toxic Touch and Into the Lungs of Hell. i love all of them. Ravenous and Blood Blaspheny are on my "to get list"
|
I heard some stuff from Toxic Touch and thought it was pretty mediocre.
So I got TTEOTD's split and EP yesterday, they're alright...too "dancy" for me as mappy puts it. There are some awesome riffs but the breakdowns are generic as hell. I love the vocals though. They both get a 3.5/5 for me. Enjoyable, but nothing special... |
scar of ages is not dancey
|
Scars Of Ages has a lot of two stepping parts on it, and a lot of breakdowns thrown into songs just for the sake of having breakdowns.
The Annihilation Of Expectation on the other hand isn't that dancy, the breakdowns fit the songs really well and add a lot to the whole of the sound. The breakdown at the end of Erratic Perception is epic. |
Yeah that's what I meant...most of the breakdowns feel out of place. They feel less forced on AOE, but there's still too much emphasis on them.
|
Whatever, they're good breakdowns.
|
The ones on AOE are creative enough, but I still think they're overused.
|

I really like Bloody Blasphemy NP: Last Zip of Spit Well I just bought Bloodbath's "Nightmares Made Flesh". Ive only heard "Outnumbering the Day" and I didnt much care for it when compared to "Resurrection Through Carnage", but we will see. I will give the verdict when I return from my smoke Ok so here's whats up. I made it 8 out of 14 tracks before arriving home and I must say, this is a damn good album. My worries of not enjoying it as much as RTC were quickly laid to rest by the 2nd song and by the 5th I was wondering if I enjoyed more than RTC. One thing I like more about NMD is the addition of solos. They add a nice layer of fog to a graveyard littered with bodies and are done so with tasteful execution. The riffs and rhythms in general are enough to makeone picture a werewolf deathmatch taking place in a wooded landscape...I could easily eat some 'shrooms, put in (insert badazz werewolf movie), listen to this cd, and go f'in crazy. |
Outnumbering The Day is really the only song on that album I can even listen to anymore.
|
That statement makes me almost certain you haven't listened to the entire thing (or even 3 full tracks), but just that song because you picked up some Metal for the Masses cd at a Hot Topic.
|
yeah mappy your tastes arent uniform to his you obviously went to this "hot topic" and bought some cd.
|
I could care less where he got it, but I never hear any other Bloodbath song talked about besides that one. And why I even made a deal of it was because there are far better songs on that than Outnumbering the Day. Just seemed fishy
|
Maybe it's talked about the most because people like it the most. Seems logical.
|

Bloodbath is a pretty mediocre band to begin with, so I find it fishy that even ONE song is good enough to be talked about incessantly. Oh wait, this is Mikael!'s side project, right? No wonder, all the Hot Topic kiddies must love it. |
Doesn't everybody dislike Bloodbath in this thread?
|
Well after just listening to it (the album) I dont find it to be very logical at all.
edit: to coke |
I don't! More like Mehbath.
Oh wait, Mikael! was just in the band, and has left now. |

Funny because Im actually saying the Bloodbath without Mike is better. If had never been part of the band I know 90% of you would'nt have a bad thing to say about it. |
