I'm pretty sure the order in which the tracks are recorded should be drums, bass, guitars, vocals.

Thunder Fingers 06-09-2005 05:22 PM

aye... but the drummer need intros for some songs that dont have drum intro's ;)

and you have to answer me! When did i ever claim i was a very good bassist?

YDload 06-09-2005 05:24 PM
aye... but the drummer need intros for some songs that dont have drum intro's ;)
But the drummer also needs to set the beat for the song! That's why he's gotta go first! I mean, couldn't he just record some hi-hat taps for the beginning when the guitar intros are going on?

Well, i bet Gur gonna read this so hell think about it, but to be honest, i cant play phantom of the opera intro to a metronome thingy.. :upset: i feel it always end up wrong...

Now answer my second question!

Oh, I didn't see your second question up there:

The reason I thought you were a good bassist is because you played Rime and POTO with your band live, AT LIVE TEMPO! Doesn't that just have an implication underneath it of "I am awesome at bass?"

That's why I want to actually hear you play it, because that would be cool :)

Riva 06-10-2005 12:57 AM

Face it Eddie, you're a great bassist. At least, we think so. :)

Lord Abortion 06-10-2005 02:27 AM
to be Honest, if anyone know anything about recording, it would be better for them to do it than me... cant we just record the instrumental parts and then send it to you, so you can sing over it, and then back to me for the final touvh?
seems sensible to me...
this is a great way of doing it... :)

Thunder Fingers 06-10-2005 05:01 AM

Heh, you could always do 'tallica and make the Bass so quiet, that you can only hear the guitars...(not that the Guitars are gonna be any good)

Thunder Fingers 06-10-2005 06:13 AM

Psh, if im gonna turn dowe any of the instruments, we gonna sound like a Bass, drum and Vocal tribute to Iron Maiden ;)

:sigh: without Guitars, there would be no Smiley Smiley Dave Murray...

crag 06-10-2005 11:43 AM

nor would there be the enjoyable antics of janick

Deth 06-10-2005 11:46 AM

I suppose. I can't go through whole Maiden song without thinking about how happy Dave must be.

But still...with your solos and your wah-wah...*shakes fist*

GurS 06-10-2005 12:54 PM

A) i only want the recorded intros for rough speed that people are thinking off.
B) we're doing the released single version of hallowed live :)

crag 06-10-2005 12:59 PM

do you guys mind if i improv on some of the solos

gurs is that the hallowed from a real live dead one

GurS 06-10-2005 01:04 PM

ja, that's the one

Josh 06-10-2005 02:16 PM

well, according to Nicko's latest diary on ye good olde Maiden site he no longer makes a balls-up of Prowler, so thats good for all us who see them this year.

 That was quick, I'm waiting for the drum and Bass before I record.

Which Riffs/solo did you do? I wanted to sort this out before we did any recording....

I think this sounds like a very interesting project. It's always interesting listening to others' interpretations of Maiden songs.

I would really like to hear the solo's, but also the entire songs if recorded.

When you get the time, feel free to send sound files:

does anyone know why maiden changed the cover of iron maiden to a computer generated thingy

Thunder Fingers 06-11-2005 12:47 PM

Gur, i got an idea for you, start recording and hit a Crash or something(Very Weak) for each bar until you gonna come in...

GurS 06-12-2005 04:31 AM

i can do that, certainly... except for POTO. Actually, I guess I could

Thunder Fingers 06-12-2005 06:17 AM
i can do that, certainly... except for POTO. Actually, I guess I could
you could do that for poto to.. i have discovered that each of the intro riffs goes over 3 bars, but the third one doesnt stop to wait for the next to go, but there he only plays tripplets anyway...

crag 06-12-2005 09:31 AM

woo, almost learned janicks solo in fear, tis surprisingly easy :D
