You should be able to get studio albums for £6.97 at Music Zone, or for about £4 on the internet.

Jev 07-12-2006 01:02 PM

Never seen a music zone mr northerner.

Lord Abortion 07-12-2006 01:04 PM

Hahah, well, you suck.

Inkstar 07-12-2006 06:28 PM

Lately I've REALLY been stuck into ToT. SoC and ItnoG are quickly becoming favourite DT songs. I've listened to this album alot, and I've had it for ages, but lately these two songs are just making me orgasm over and over. I absolutely LOVE the ending of both songs. Both are so emotional and I feel like I almost want to cry when I listen to them.

But you definitely have to listen to the whole of both songs to really feel the power of the endings. Maybe I'm going over-the-top with the crying thing... but damn these songs grow on you.

Chu 07-12-2006 08:05 PM

I'll grab this oppurtunity, to direct your eyes and ears, to this.

Anyone else feeling a bit :naughty: reading this? :p

I really love ItNofG and SoC too. Plus As I Am has always been a fave of mine. Great riffs and awesome drumming. If I have a good tone, I'd record those.
Any of you guys seen Mike's Liquid Drum Theater video where he shows you how to play, and count out the Dance of Eternity??
Anyone??

Also there's a tonne of Mikey videos on youtube if him playing through loads, if not all of Train of Thought and other stuff too.

That drum solo he does where he goes down to the crown holding that single tom is pretty sick.

It was the same as it is on the album, except it was backed by a full orchestra(I was there :thumb: ).

There weren't any extra parts to the song if thats what you were thinkin. It was amazing though, but Metropolis Part 1 with full orchestra was one of the most incredible things EVER.:thumb:

Inkstar 07-12-2006 09:10 PM

*Can't wait for this DVD*

Seriously. I havn't been this excited in a LONG time.

Haha, look at the comments...
Blabbermouth is filled with imbecile metalheads that cleary cannot enjoy the beautiful arrangements nor the complexity of DT's songs.

eug008 07-12-2006 10:46 PM
Is it just me or have you found that the DT dvd's tend to be very expensive most places?:(

Although i dont care anymore cus i have em all and got em quite cheap as well.
Ya, all the DT dvds in Australia cost $50AUS for some reason, luckily I got Budokan on special

Which is cool because its normally the most expensive.

Same here:D well since just before the release of octavarium anyway.
Its really quite rare that i get this excited about cd's/dvds

Inkstar 07-13-2006 01:11 AM

Haha my girlfriend's buying me SCORE!

Leeching off lovers ftw!

Oh, I'm actually worried about one thing though. The DVD comes out 2 days after my birthday, which is why she is buying it, but due to certain circumstances, she won't be able to actually give me the DVD until about 4 or 5 days after it actually comes out.

I can't wait for it, so I was thinking.. should I tell her to get me the audio cd's instead, and have my parents buy the DVD so I can watch it straight away? Or are they going to come together?

eug008 07-13-2006 01:27 AM

I doubt the DVD will come out on the same date as it comes out in the US

inassociationwithdeanlearner 07-13-2006 01:52 AM

It'll probably come out in australia before we get it in england:mad:

ghettoeddo 07-13-2006 02:00 AM

wute for being released first in america :]

ima get both CD/DVD

That made me lol for some reason.

But you're right, they really do give metalheads a bad name there.

Lord Abortion 07-13-2006 03:26 AM

Hah, but we get the new Maiden album before you guys:D

Blabbermouth is the same as MA, people don't know anything about music who do reviews on there.

ghettoeddo 07-13-2006 04:52 AM

i just bought LSFNY CD version :]

i am very excited. there's this small CD shop here (korea) that's got EVERYTHING...even some of the most obscure metal bands

eug008 07-13-2006 05:14 AM

It's a shame they didn't put all the CD tracks on the DVD

The CD and DVD will be sold seperatly, just like all their other live albums.

publicastration 07-13-2006 11:21 AM

comparing John Petrucci with other greats like Steve Vai, I've found that while Petrucci is more technical, Vai's guitar has alot of emotion. Just a tidbit I thought I'd share.

also, John could take a few lessons from Muhammed Suicmez, his sweeping is the best I've heard.

bwnstl 07-13-2006 11:34 AM

Muhammed would eat him alive and then pick his teeth with Petrucci's bones.

eug008 07-13-2006 11:18 PM

That guy is just insane, seriously

FuzzyDuck 07-14-2006 05:00 AM

Nah, Petrucci's a far more well-rounded guitarist I think, in terms of theory knowledge and technique. Necrophagist's riffs seem to be rythmically more complex, but Petrucci's phrasing, note-choice and dynamics own him. And I'm sure that with a bit of practice Jp would be able to play anything by Necrophagist. But Muhammed is great.

ghettoeddo 07-14-2006 11:30 PM

yea i think petrucci's perfectly capable of tackling almost anything modern guitarrists throw at him.
almost. anything.

although i will admit...watching someone like vai is much more interesting than petrucci. just cuz vai is goofy.

Inkstar 07-15-2006 05:33 AM

Petrucci has guns. >_>

Jev 07-15-2006 07:04 AM
I find Vai terribly boring.
JP>Vai.

Up The Irons 07-15-2006 10:55 AM

Well Vai makes music solely as guitar music with some other crap in the background.

DT makes music that is only somewhat guitar directed but they do make better music as a whole instead of just a guitar solo album.

Vai is better at the guitar than Petrucci, but his music is bleh... boring.

Duman 07-15-2006 12:21 PM

Fucking hell I only just found out that Muhammed Suicmez is Turkish... I'm proud.. *tears in eyes*

I can't find anything of his.

Haha yeah, seen that. I love the part where JP's like "I don't wanna tell you now, but you're singing the wrong words". And the look on James' face is just classic. Absolute champion.

Also, I forget whether this was posted here before or not, but just incase:
