finally some deers! appreesh
oh and stating the obvious: daitro rules |
ctts' vocals are extremely distinct, how are they not memorable?
they sound like a million others, last time I listened. MEH. that band is really bad at 'most everything. I'd much rather put on IWASMOFFY, The Pax Cecilia or Stella Dawes. |
IWSMOFFY has some really good songs, but the majority of their music is extremely awkwardly structured. As for their vocals, those are way more generic sounding than CTTS... even so, the comparison doesn't even make sense. Don't know the other two bands, don't care.
As for CTTS being "really bad" at most everything, lmao. No dude. Way better songwriters than IWSMOFFY, that's for sure. Like cool, you don't like the band. But they're clearly not "really bad" or "unmemorable" because they're clearly one of the most popular screamo bands ever. |
popular != good in my book. you can't say that "because it's popular, you can't say it's bad." that makes no sense. musical taste is subjective. and I don't automatically like stuff that's technically well composed. in the majority of cases, I actually prefer that which is not. and I feel super awkward calling booking agency tour manager Alternative Press "screamo" bands screamo. I don't get into that stuff at all. it's like the blink-182 of punk rock - only I actually rather enjoy blink-182.
but not paying any attention to their attitude towards DIY, what CTtS do musically is 100% in-n-out to me. I like that song about «waffles in the floorboards», or whatever. [would not be surprised if those are the actual lyrics.] and they are probably technically proficient at what they do. sure. but I don't give a shit. it's punk rock. IWASMOFFY had way more intense stuff. emo is supposed to be awkward music made by awkward kids, so I don't see why that's bad. if you like CTtS though, definitely check out the other two bands I mentioned. Pax Cecilia are nothing like CTTS
|
they are probably easier comparable to Mesa Verde and Suffocate for Fuck's Sake, but saying they are nothing like CTtS is a bit far fetched. they are a million times better though.
popular != good in my book.
we're all very well aware of this
you can't say that "because it's popular, you can't say it's bad." that makes no sense.
that's not the point i was making the point i was making, in a non-commercial genre like screamo, for a band to get that huge, that quickly, they can't be "really bad" at everything
musical taste is subjective.
obvi
and I don't automatically like stuff that's technically well composed. in the majority of cases, I actually prefer that which is not. and I feel super awkward calling booking agency tour manager Alternative Press "screamo" bands screamo. I don't get into that stuff at all. it's like the blink-182 of punk rock - only I actually rather enjoy blink-182.
this is a stupid statement you care too much about diy
IWASMOFFY had way more intense stuff. emo is supposed to be awkward music made by awkward kids, so I don't see why that's bad.
iwsmoffy is not intense at all, especially in comparison to ctts... and i'm sorry but being an awkward kid doesn't mean that you should write a terrible 6 minute song with one really good part band seriously has like 7 good songs
if you like CTtS though, definitely check out the other two bands I mentioned. http://thatspunk.net/blog/2009/10/stella-dawes-contrasts/ http://thatspunk.net/blog/2009/02/the-pax-cecilia-blessed-are-the-bonds/ you'll probably like that stuff, if I know your affinity for progressive/epic screamo, which I think I somewhat do.
ill check them out i guess, but ctts is good regardless of being popular and paying booking agencies |

I really like Believe in Patters by IWSMOFFY
|
believes*
i used to love that album when i was like 15/16, now it just sounds awkward to me though i do like twelve, six, and eight a lot. there's other good songs, but those ones stand out the most. |
Idk that album just does it for me.
Not stupid enough to claim CTTS are bad though, As the roots Undo is still amazing. |
I don't remember anyone asking opinions derived from the review site faggotry to be aired
you know a majority of the review site actually really like CTTS, right? |
ssshhhhh mannnnnnn
|
God, the song 'Spliced Film Smiles' by I am the Resurrection really gets my dick hard.
|
they sound like a million others, last time I listened. MEH. that band is really bad at 'most everything.
overrated? yes. sounding like a million others and bad musicians, are you fucking kidding? jump off a bridge
I'd much rather put on IWASMOFFY.
that band is so FUCKING GAY |
they sound like a million others
uh it's fucking screamo |
huh ive never really heard two screamo bands sound the same before
|
uh it's fucking screamo
besides the point, ctts' vocals are distinct in the genre |
CTTS don't really sound like much else in the genre
|
huh ive never really heard two screamo bands sound the same before
uhhhhh |
hey did you ever hear that screamo song with a fast part and then a clean interlude
|
idk, did they drag out the interlude like forever and then it got progressively more intense and climaxed in another fast part with screams?
|
the point i was making, in a non-commercial genre like screamo, for a band to get that huge, that quickly, they can't be "really bad" at everything
you care too much about diy iwsmoffy is not intense at all, especially in comparison to ctts... and i'm sorry but being an awkward kid doesn't mean that you should write a terrible 6 minute song with one really good part
... aka they are popular and successful thus I can't think they are bad. which I do. y, it's not like actual punk/hardcore/emo/screamo has anything to do with diy... what's not intense with IWASMOFFY? intense doesn't necessary mean noisy or puke-y vocals. I definitely find their nerve very much intense. |
God, the song 'Spliced Film Smiles' by I am the Resurrection really gets my dick hard.
I find it super lulzy that the one I find myself probably most akin to in musical taste on this site is one who admits to not listening to any emo any more LOL |
IWSMOFFY is seriously, the faggiest band in the genre.
