Why bummed?
Because I heard it really hurts girls the first time.

Radiobass81 05-03-2005 03:50 PM
1. I'll look into it.

2. Did I mention this will be my 4th time seeing them live?
You REALLY don't know how jealous I am.

Four? Oh, how I envy.

Spaceman Spiff 05-03-2005 03:54 PM

Radio, since you're the Roland man, what would you recommend to me?
The band consists of just three members, so only one guitarist. Also, this band will be gigging at some point, so, something that'll be good for that.

fatbandit 05-03-2005 03:55 PM

I can still get a 700 second hand though... I may just go elsewhere for the extension cab at any rate.

I'm off MX!

G'night.

fatbandit 05-03-2005 03:57 PM

DB500, Spiff!

It easily handles gigs (well, it has done with me), and recording, and band practices, and won't be a problem with a guitarist, as long as he's sensible and doesn't have a 300W amp on full volume...

I say that as its cheaper, but get the DB700 if you don't mind the size and cost.

tenorbass 05-03-2005 04:08 PM

hey guys there is a new Jean baudin vid out

Radiobass81 05-03-2005 04:13 PM

Spiff: Any DB series Roland amp is gig-worthy. I love my DB500, but, just to be on the safe side, get the DB700 if you can find one. I've seen some places that still have them. Music 123 has them, I think...

I<3myOLPmm2 05-03-2005 04:19 PM

my peavey 200 watt keyboard amp sees me through gigs just fine

I<3myOLPmm2 05-03-2005 04:19 PM

and it saw my dad through gigs

Thunder Fingers 05-03-2005 04:26 PM

I picked up a six string and I didn't find it hard at all to play. I adjusted to it really quickly. I loved it.

PaulSimonon 05-03-2005 04:36 PM

I hope I get to buy a 6er soon! I've got enough for a Brice, but I've got other things in mind.
I hope I get to buy a 6er soon! I've got enough for a Brice, but I've got other things in mind.
Yeah.

Even if I got just a BTB406, I'd be extremely happy, but I think they're great basses on top of that.

What I really want is a MTD American six or seven string, but I don't have 4+ grand to shell out.:(

EDIT: I really want a Dingwall Prima Voodoo 6-string in whale pool blue, too. :D

Thunder Fingers 05-03-2005 04:51 PM

yeah, but i want a fretless six :p you take the two things you think your not gonnna use much, and throw them togheter :thumb:

PaulSimonon 05-03-2005 04:53 PM

Seems logical to me, instead of paying for two basses that won't be used as much, just buy one that hits everything.

Pluperfect_Arson 05-03-2005 04:54 PM
yeah, but i want a fretless six :p you take the two things you think your not gonnna use much, and throw them togheter :thumb:

And so by doing this you'll use them much more? :p

I'd, personally, get both a fretted and fretless six.

Thunder Fingers 05-03-2005 04:56 PM

'sactly, and pretty cheap to, just change some hardwares and pickups, but still pretty cheap.

i have already found a use for it, one of my bands songs goes in b, so unless the b string is overly flappy, im gonna use it, and get that Mwa of a fretless bass, and do Heavy Fuzzy Overdrive on it, it gonna cut your ear drums ;)

You better hope that your B string isn't floppy. Floppy B strings sound horrible.

Thunder Fingers 05-03-2005 05:14 PM

^thats why i hate 5 strings, i have only had horrible experiences with them..:(

Yeah, they might have all been 34" scales, though.

Try a 35" scale sometime. If you can, try out the BTB406 or 405. If I remember correctly, their B strings aren't floppy at all. And my friend has a Schecter Stiletto Studio five, and the B string isn't floppy. It's such a nice bass, too.
