did you hear the thing they did with jay-z?
I heard the song the released as..a single I think? Can't remember what it was but I wasn't too keen on it so I didn't buy the album. I was just quite surprised at how groovy some of the remixed tracks off the first album were, so I might go buy the original one. You likey then?
Any time you are going to have to speak 6 vocal noises per beat at 80bpm it's going to be a mouth full!!

I can barely count 16th triplets at 80. It's so impractical though. NOT Recommend for counting outloud. It becomes a hinderence more then a help.

You gotta establish the feel internally. Work with things at a slower tempo if you still need to count them. Or even count two part, and just think about the triplet notes passing by.

You know if you count 1 + 2 + 3 +, that each is representive of a triplet. And I bet you can play a triplet value is without needing count it out right?
For sure, I usually just kinda think DahdahdahDahdahdah, etc in my head.

"Just got my Saludas in.....

I'm 100% disapointed....

There's so many problems...

The cymbals arnt the sizes or anything like I orderd.... they also never returned my cymbal vault.... they arnt the design or look I asked for... they pretty mch did nothing I asked for... nothing.

Unless they fix this now I'm on my way back to zildjian.

I mean jamie was nice at first but towards the end of the purchase he just seemd to stop carrying...

Maybe he will fix all this and they will turn out awesome.... I can sure hope.

Pics later to show and prove my point.

Well they also didn't nail the sound.... even close..

the ... 19... (I ordered a 20")... w/e youd call it sounds like a Zildjian 18" ZBT Rock Crash I had to barrow for a show the other day...

the... 22".. crashride sounds like... well the opiset of what i asked for. Its trashy and sounds like a big gong. Doesnt even sound good as a ride haha.

The hi hats.. I don't even wanna start... They sound just really bad..

I mean Ive played alot of cymbals and Id never wanna bash on a company.. But ive never been more disapointed..

They never sent back my SKB Cymbal vault.. I only sent it there to have my cymbals shipped back in it for more protection... But NOPE. they also werent packaged very nice..

The cymbals arnt very round.. like i have BRAND NEW tama roadpro cymbal stands.. first time bein used actually and the cymbals if you spin them on them they are WAY out of wake. I mean.... to a extreme.

THey just don't sound good..... Like not even for what they ARE they dont sound as good.

I now have to play 2 gigs and record a full length cd with uhh... nothing?

Hopefully I can get a refund... or something...

I mean I don't wanna drive to many people away from saluda.. But.... Play some before you choise them.. Thats where i made a huge mistake. Don't realy on everyone on the forum...

I will now be going right back to zildjian..... where i started...

I have pictures im uploading now showing how the sizes arnt close... and how the hi hats DOnt line up with each other...

I also said no brillant finish...... Thats all i got was brillant.. JAMIE SAID HE COULD DO A K HYBRID LOOK..... i said thats what i want.. THAT.. and well..... they look like earthworks mixed with glory.

Also..... ALot of the "wear" marks to make them look how they are... are actually FINGERPRINTS with a finish over them... gross... looks cheesy and bad.

like said before from someone the edges are sharp and will cut you... I played them for only 10 mins and im pretty sure i just wasted 25$ worth of sticks ha.

All in all.... They didn't do anything I asked for... Not even the finishes or sizes OR sound.. I asked for such a sound that these didn't even come close to. NOT EVEN close. I rather spend the extra on zildjians....

I can't stop going on about this im so upset... 400+ spent and i sent out ALL my old cymbals... all of them... Im left with NOTHING for shows.. studio... practice.. Im in a band that plays out alot and plans to tour soon and put out a cd on a label.

****... i hate to bash on them right in there own thread but... i just wanna warn people.. He will prob post right under me saying all diff but i have emails to prove everything.. and now pictures..

Like i said before maybe they can like... redo the cymbals and they come out amazing and i stick with saluda and everythigns ok... but i can ONLY hope"

Thats Saluda For'ya...

stevensonmat2 02-01-2007 02:55 PM

Come back into the zildjian fold :P

Sucks though man, nothing worse then anticipated arrivals being less than expected.

Berk 02-01-2007 02:58 PM

He has nothing now...Pretty much.

Josiah 02-01-2007 03:04 PM

That is a huge bummer Berk. I really hope it works out for you, I'm sure it will. And if not, worse case.. out a lil bit of money and some good lessons learned.

This is why I've been telling people to hear things before you buy them... forever. Internet shopping is great, but not when it comes to instruments you need to hear to decide on.

Also Berk, Not sure where you live but many drum stores rent kits and cymbals. There may also be a backline company in your area. You can rent cymbals, etc nessicary for your recording/gigs if need be.

Berk 02-01-2007 03:13 PM

Uhh I didnt buy the cymbals...

Its just this has what happen to a guy who bought from Saluda..

Thanks anyway.

Josiah 02-01-2007 03:23 PM

Hai Guys. I'm at an internet cafe. My work has blocked mx, and without a connection at home looks like i'll be on hiatus. Thanks for all the advice you've given, this place is really quite cool.

Circumventor is your friend Aaron ;)

Jezen 02-01-2007 04:16 PM

I had an accident on my moped today. Cut up my arm pretty bad. Damaged the moped pretty bad too. It wasn't really my fault. The road was just really slippery in a place that's like a kind of U-turn road.

Totally not cool.

_Wrathchild_ 02-01-2007 04:24 PM

I have to go to some lame driving course now because I hit the ditch a couple months ago when the roads were bad.
It was after the first real storm of the year, and a whole bunch of other people had accidents that same weekend too, so I hope I'm not the only one who has to go to this stupid thing

Jezen 02-01-2007 04:25 PM

Damaged: Rear brakes, rear suspension, rear tyre, engine, rear brakelever, lower panelling, and the electric engine start wasn't working but it's alright now.

Jezen 02-01-2007 04:30 PM

Oh I can still drum. I rehearsed with my fusion group for 3 and a half hours tonight. My arm feels a little bit funny, but it'll be alright.

Cheers for bein nice about it though.

Jezen 02-01-2007 04:40 PM

Our group plays original stuff, but we are heavily influenced by Yellowjackets, Jaco Pastorius, and EST.
