Okay...
I think you should calm down and quit taking this so personally.
Here are some Carcass lyrics... Keep On Rotting In The Free World... not the whole song though.

The threads of global fabric are untied
The role of the western free world is in decline
Still free to consume, free to breathe
Free to exist, free to dream, your life of dreams
Keep on rotting, keep on hoping, keep on dreaming
One day maybe, keep on rotting, keep on hoping
Whilst in the real world you...
Consumer or consumed, your life is cheap
Economic salvation in sweatshops returned from the east
Despair the only quality of strife
A reason for existence if you can afford the price,
If your price is right
Keep on rotting, keep on hoping, keep on dreaming
One day maybe, keep on rotting, keep on hoping
Whilst in the real world you...
ROT!

BV knows what it's all about. :thumb:
not exactly sure of the revelance...but those sound like bad lyrics, in the words of taking back sunday "those words were worse than teenage poetry"

If I insulted metal, BV would be all over me like ugly on an ape. But LS and I have a discussion on emo, we're insulted.

I love how we talk about how we're very openminded about music, but when someone mentions emo, the flaming begins.

And maybe I am taking it too personally, but I really like "emo." It's not just guys whining. Listen to it. It's much more than that. It's music. MUSIC. Most emo bands don't even sing "Boo hoo my girlfriend dumped me." If you don't listen to it, then don't talk about it.
I didn't even say anything about emo! I was talking about Bright Eyes. All the songs I heard were mellow and had a sad feeling, most of Bob Dylans songs have an upbeat happy feeling. I didn't even say anything bad about Bright Eyes!
Yeah, but that's with every genre. Every genre has stereotypes that people play on.

All I did was state my opinion on Bright Eyes.
Anyway, I've heard emo bands and I do not like the genre.

Left Shoe 02-15-2005 08:53 PM

hmm heres some lyrics that are just as good as the ones space man posted
You're out in left field, and lacking interest
You fight the boredom but it makes no difference
Your mental health kid, that's what's in question
Keep acting obscure, we'll keep them guessing
The moment ideas are conceived,
They'll be out of touch, obsolete,
They're faking champions hand picked,
And all the fights have been fixed,
You wake to suffer through the day,
Trade a dream for the pay,
Well here's the fact I hope it sticks,
You're just alive out of habit

From Autumn to Ashes " Alive out of habit"

rybass 02-15-2005 08:54 PM

thanks gav.....i'll check those out.

bottlerocket 02-15-2005 08:54 PM

I'm no longer participating in the "emo" conversation. I don't want an argument, and since I like all of you in here (except Spaceman...;)), I'm ending it on my side now.

i own you all i, all by myself, have learned the launguage of Greg Parrish from nuclear rabbit. and i can now acually tell what he's saying.!

bowling for midgets- nuclear rabbit
Roly-Poly dwarves
Rolling all around, knocking over pins, it's a New York sin
Roly-poly dwarves
Jobless by the hordes,
Little people longing to be thrown, unemployed, somewhat annoyed
Sorry little dwarves

Steroid pumping men
Throw him as far as you can
Soaring through the air
No other sport compares..

Suspended by a hook
Awaiting to be flung, mighty warrior throws them one by one
Grubby hobbit bum
Surely a sight to behold, they look quite bold
Sorry little dwarves

Balded bearded athlete
Stubby fingers, shrunken feat
This sport would not be known
If they were fully grown

Infamous New York game
A midget put to shame
Dr. Ruth agrees,
"This sport should not be ceased"

Toss a little man,
Rebounding on the floor like a loony-goony bird you can't ignore
Roly-poly can-can
Enjoy it while you can,
This midget sport will not expand, not it's permanently banned
Sorry, little dwarves

The future it looks grim
Dwarf tossing Tiny Tim
Illegal in fifty states
Unfortunate midget traits

SORRY, LITTLE DWARVES!

Like how metal is about being evil and satan and murder and crap.
Sure, some bands are like that, and some of those bands are awesome.

On the other hand, bands like that that suck, and I know a lot metalheads don't like it when I say this.... Slayer.
At least it's funny that they only do it as a gimmick and don't actually believe their lyrics, it's just for fun.
