I'm glad that they don't play Anarchy in the UK, but GM/BF and The Conjuring are two songs I'll never gonna hear live from my favorite album by them.

Why he can't be like Tom Araya?

Jev 07-01-2006 04:17 AM
I want to hear RIP played in it's entrety, that would just be so good, except I doubt it because they have never play Five Magics, Poison was the cure or RIP Polaris ever live because they were toohard to playor somthin

EDIT: Pretty sure they haven't played Dawn Patrol live but I don't really care if they play that or not
Megadeth's songs being too hard for them to play?
Surely not.

Oh and the only song I wish they'd play live is GM/BF.
I think Conjuring and Anarchy are pretty crap.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-01-2006 04:27 AM

Conjuring and Anarchy are great.

I always hated Anarchy, but I really like it now.

Dawn Patrol would be awesome if they played it through the PA as they came on stage.

Nepenthe 07-01-2006 06:41 AM

Anarchy is decent. Conjuring and and Black Friday are excellent, though. Two of the best off of Peace Sells.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-01-2006 07:05 AM

Yeah, definitely.

eug008 07-01-2006 07:30 PM

Shame they can't play Black Friday or The Conjurng anymore, don't really care if they don't play Anarchy tho

We might be going to Taiwan in August, and then we're going some more U.S. stuff I can't really mention right now, because I'm sworn to secrecy — that's in September/October. And then we'll go to Europe again and hopefully start recording around next February."
Gigantour 2 is September/October, right?

Lord Abortion 07-02-2006 05:21 AM

Yeah, I suspect that'll be Gigantour.

GM/BF is a great song, but I don't mind if Dave doesn't want to do it, it's his choice after all.

Nepenthe 07-02-2006 08:44 AM

If Exodus is at Gigantour...

Heres the lateset news from megadeth, Posted on the megadeth forums.
It's been a long time since we visited, unless you were in the fanclub chat last month, and there is a world of stuff to inform you of. As we stand now, you all know we are in the middle of doing a new record . . .

The new record is produced by Jeff Balding and myself, and will be mixed by Jeff, although Jeff and I talked at the beginning of this project and I made clear that I wanted a different sounding record, not unlike the "sounds" of previous records, but stripped down of all extra stuff we had experimeted with and just make a metal record. Regardless of speed or heaviness, this record sounds like a metal record.

Next up is touring and Megadeth has two shows in Spain this month; Gigantour.2006.NA starts in September and ends in October, with more details coming soon; we have one show in Japan in October, after Gigantour in North America; we are nearing our release date for the details about a very possible Gigantour.2006.OZ; then there will be various dates in the states and elsewhere leading up to the European leg of this World Tour, which may end up being Gigantour.2006.EU. Any dates following this will be posted at either the Megadeth Killing Road page or the "smell the asphalt" page at the Gigantour.com site.

There are two more releases that are scheduled for release soon and they are the Gigantour CD which comes out August 22nd or so, and the DVD which comes out September 11th I believe. And then there is the Megadeth: Live in Argentina record, which is tentatively titled "Megadeth - That One Night!"

The boys in the band and I are getting along fantastically, every one is done with their various parts, so it is all vocals, and some remaining overdubs and then its mix time.

I am off to go visit my family for the Fourth of July, and to those of us that celebrate it, "Happy 4th!!!" Those of you that don't, have a great day anyway and if ya want, you can pretend you do celebrate it, or put on SFSGSW,start a revolution in your little city, and make your own damn holidays

Stay Heavy and G.2006 news real soon. Trust me
eug008 07-05-2006 04:23 AM

C'mon Aus dates
If Exodus is at Gigantour...

There was a thread about this on the Megadeth forums. Dave said that Exodus would not be on it this year and closed the thread. I hope "soon" means REAL SOON this time!

Jev 07-05-2006 08:30 AM

European leg of Gigantour?
YES!

Chu 07-06-2006 12:29 AM

Heh, wonder what Mustaine's favourite 'Deth album is...

Mother 07-06-2006 03:32 AM

I dont think Dave listens to much megadeth

Jev 07-06-2006 04:55 AM

I'd think probably the newest one.
either that or he hates them all.

Mother 07-06-2006 05:00 AM

Yeh .. if he still liked rust in peace or something like that then the newer albums would be sounding similar to it.

Nepenthe 07-06-2006 06:24 AM

I'd bet money that it's not Risk.

I'm Charming 07-06-2006 06:27 AM
I'd bet money that it's not Risk.
haha yeah

Jev 07-06-2006 06:35 AM

Actually, I'd take a bet on it being CTE.

Nepenthe 07-06-2006 06:39 AM

I could see that being the case. Not at all a bad choice either.

eug008 07-10-2006 03:58 AM

/Don't think bands listen to their own music

Chu 07-10-2006 04:14 AM

Yeah, but if you were Dave Mustaine, would you not listen to your music?

Would be such a waste not to, I think.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-10-2006 04:37 AM
/Don't think bands listen to their own music
yeah but they wrote it.

Mother 07-12-2006 04:12 AM

Mustaine said that he only listend to TSHF a few times .. that too just after it came out to check if everything was alright with it.

Guys the gigantour forums are closed ... This could mean ~~~.

Jev 07-12-2006 05:21 AM

No gigantour?

I think bands do listen to their own music, I mean playing it live's listening to it?

Mother 07-12-2006 05:23 AM

no its closed temporaily .. They are updating it maybe ... Get it now?

The Negation 07-12-2006 05:23 AM

Surely they'd get sick of listening to their own music? I mean imagine listening to the same songs again and again, whether it be playing them live/practising/listening to the CDs...it would get pretty boring after a while. Thats probably why a lot of bands dont listen to their own CDs.

Jev 07-12-2006 05:24 AM

somewhat.

Yeah that's what I think too.
I don't know how bands can play the same song for 20 years (say the Mechanix) and still claim to enjoy playing it.

Mother 07-12-2006 05:25 AM

yeh, In my band we are rehersing this song .. and I am alredy sick of playing it.

Flower dance they might be updating the line-up.

The Negation 07-12-2006 05:27 AM

Its a wonder how bands like Megadeth, who have been there for years, still manage to play all the favourites...they must be sick to death of playing practically the same songs at every show by now.

Mother 07-12-2006 05:30 AM

I guess they try to add something new to a track every now and them.. Like how they extended She-wolf in rude awekening.

The Negation 07-12-2006 05:32 AM

Nevertheless, it must be so tedious playing the same tracks again and again. Gotta give them props for sticking with it though. Megadeth were the first band i saw live. Now that was an amazing first gig.

Jev 07-12-2006 05:45 AM
I guess they try to add something new to a track every now and them.. Like how they extended She-wolf in rude awekening.
They should play it like that every time. It owned.

Yeah, though I guess that would apply to Mustaine these days.

Exodus stopped playing The Toxic Waltz because they were sick of it :(

ATM 07-12-2006 06:42 AM

Anyone heard the Megadeth version of These Boots Were Made For Walkin'?

Apocalyptic Raids 07-12-2006 06:45 AM

Yeah, with the annoying as fuck beeps in it
