They may have a terrible name, but I'm enjoying Fairyland's new album.
|
same here. is their earlier albums as good?
|
I downloaded The Sceptre Of Deception by Falconer last night after remembering how awesome The Coronation is. The rest of the album isn't too bad either though can anyone recommend which one to have a listen to next or share some thoughts on The Sceptre Of Deception?
|
I don't think Falconer is anything special. And Jeff, I downloaded Of War of Osyrhia earlier today, and the couple of songs I heard were good.
|
sceptre of deception is excellent, the coronation is probably my favorite power metal track ever. if you werent too keen on that album, check out chapters from a vale forlorn next. it has a different singer, mathias blad, that most people seem to prefer. i like gobel more personally.

My favorite Falconer is Chapters From A Vale Forlorn. Northwind and Among Beggars are also good. |
i like Falconer but i cant listen to a whole album. the vocals just dont do much for me

Yeah, I heard 40:1.
Epic chorus! |
Sabaton Has to be the most epic sounding band ever IMO ...
listening to the new metalium now. And If you want a Blind Guardian copy, check out savage circus ( old BG Drummer, Persuader Vocals) |

Which is to say, not nearly that of Primo. |
Starting to come back to powermetal a bit more. Always happens this time of the year.
Digging Helloween's Gambling With The Devil a lot. |
Yeah, I heard 40:1.
Epic chorus!
The Ghost Division chorus gives it a run for its money. |

Wait, you're talking about annoying things about that album and you don't mention Deris?!?!?
With any other singer, I would really love that album. As it is, I just like it a lot. |
was listening to some Richard Anderson today, jesus he is an amazing keyboard player.
'please let me knowwwww, everythings alright, thinking about you though your out of sight! every night, when i'm turning in my tears find me, please hurry dear come back and rescue me!' |

anyody like Narnia? their album Course of a Generation is pretty good, whilst setting aside theyre a christian power metal band
|
argh, still haven't checked out more Falconer but on the flip side i finally got a copy of Defenders of the Crown by Human Fortress last week :)
|
Totally forgot how awesome A Night at the Opera was.
|
And Then There Was Silence is one of my favorite songs of all time.
|
FEAR THE HEAT OF PASSION
FATHER KING DESIRRRREE LUST OBSESSION DEATH THEY'LL BRING z |
I've yelled at my friends to shut the **** up numerous times when that's playing in my car
|
Anyone heard Powerwolf? Listening to a few of their tracks now, it's really, really catchy. Like a less serious Sabaton. They're singing about "St. Satan" and "Resurrection by Erection" instead of D-Day.
|
I've heard of them but never heard them. I think I might give them a shot now.
|
Thanks for bringing them to my attention Tyler. They rock.
|
These guys are cool. Just listened to all their Myspace tunes. Reminds of the Dream Evil formula of solid music with cheeseball lyrics.

lol pretty cool actually, first thing i thought when the first riff started though was Amon Amarth...don't know why :p
was listening to some Richard Anderson today, jesus he is an amazing keyboard player. I just heard this song a few days ago. Pretty awesome song but it helps that Heiman is singing it. |
Is Human Fortress any good?
|
very good, yes
|
any NWOBHM fans in hurr
|
GTFO with your NWOBHM crap. Jag Panzer smokes them. So does Iced Earth aka American POWER metal. and this is a POWER metal thread.
|
wow dude, somebody needs to take their antidepressants. relax. those bands wouldn't exist without NWOBHM, so the least you can do is appreciate the masters who defined the style.
|
Yah ok w/e. Judas Priest ripped off already formed power metal bands for their Painkiller album.
And don't you have some Lady Gaga, black metal, and rap to be listening to? |
jag panzer sucks anyways
|
where the hell is your logic? painkiller came out in 1990. the height of NWOBHM was from the late 70s to the early 80s. unless you want to claim that jag panzer was around in 1972 and judas priest ripped off their sound for Sad Wings of Destiny.
and i see you've been looking at my recent digs list, which is good because as everybody knows you can't listen to multiple genres of music or anything like that |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74Nei5Axde4
i would like to see somebody try to deny the ridiculous badassery of this song and/or deny its place within this thread |
