You're all worked up when you get home, wanting to stick with the loud noises.

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 12:57 PM

"Loud noises!!!"

hismajestythepope 10-24-2008 03:26 PM
Exactly. I have hundred of fun deathcore albums that aren't remotely unique.
i have like 30 lol

and like 6 of those albums are original.

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 03:32 PM

Yeah I went on a deathcore binge like a year ago.

hismajestythepope 10-24-2008 03:36 PM

ive been listening to deathcore since like 2004

so i guess it explains why im picky about it.

right now my favorite deathcore releases:
1. tteotd/knife trade
2. embrace the end/end of 6000 years
3. graves of valor - famine
4. war from a harlots mouth/molotov solution
5. rifles at recess - to whisper in tongues

idk famine's the only recent one on that list and that was nearly 2 years ago

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 03:38 PM

Well I got into The Acacia Strain when 3750 came out, so I guess I've been into it since then. I didn't realize it was a genre until like a year ago.

hismajestythepope 10-24-2008 03:40 PM

everyone was like dood not a real genre to me back when i was talking about idwr and animosity all the time (aka 05) but after spending the next like 2 years listening to death metal thats pretty much that style in huge numbers while theres still standard dm being made, i was just like yeah its a different movement i am make thread now!

i mean its like the same movement

its just like

tteotd is to pestilence as orchid is to rites of spring

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 03:45 PM

Yeah it is a thing on its own at times. Deathcore bands play with metalcore and even post-hardcore bands, but death metal bands aren't as likely to do that.

hismajestythepope 10-24-2008 03:46 PM

my old band played with death metal bands, post-hardcore bands, and metalcore bands at the same shows all the time.

it was cool back then when were the only deathcore band in the area. :(

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 04:01 PM

We don't have a lot of them around here really.

adb 10-24-2008 04:23 PM
Anyone heard the new Abigail Williams, its pretty good, though it really doesn't have to do with anything with Deathcore
its great

neonskies 10-24-2008 04:26 PM
same here. i only have a few friends that listen to metal and most of the time they never can go to any shows.
It's exactly like that for me. I know a few people who listen to metal, some of those people only like a song or two per band, and the people who are big metalheads don't go to shows unless it's Iron Maiden or someone like that.

Meh, I just make friends at shows.

adb 10-24-2008 04:28 PM

the funniest show I went to was Carnifex about 6 months ago idk
there were so many 15 year olds w/ Carnifex shirts. Me and two guys I met from work (they were customers) were probably the oldest people there

ekajsk8er 10-24-2008 04:31 PM

the last show my friends deathcore-ish band played in the other bands were a hardcore band (think SOIA), a ska band, a skate punk band, and a straight up death metal band. it was pretty cool.

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 04:37 PM

That's some good variety!

ekajsk8er 10-24-2008 04:45 PM

yeah, it was pretty cool seeing all the different scenes come together and **** a bar up together

the death metal band played hammer smashed face as an encore (per request) and like 75% of the crowd started windmilling, it was great

Dimmu Burger 10-24-2008 04:46 PM

Yeah man! I wanna play with some of my friends bands, who play post hardcore and rock and emo stuff. We'll see!

adb 10-25-2008 12:42 AM

listening to ABRB for the first time in awhile. Such a great album, reminds me that I saw Leche last week at the Faceless show with some chick. She was completely disinterested, but Leche was playing air guitar and drums to the Faceless, the dude is funny

beans 10-25-2008 01:06 AM

he was seriously a dick the last time i saw him, but that was some time ago

hismajestythepope 10-25-2008 02:25 AM

as blood runs black are quite possibly the worst song writers in the history of metal.

like worse than the combo of corey steger and timmy mctague, because they at least wrote good riffs.

and now cries of the past, theres a unique deathcore album.

Volt2187 10-25-2008 07:58 AM

Plus their breakdowns are some of the worst I've heard (ie over the top, to sound "Brutal").

Xplisit 10-25-2008 11:23 AM

worst breakdowns : WBCC

Volt2187 10-25-2008 07:15 PM

Actually Winds of Plague hold that title. Though With Blood Comes Cleansing is probably a close second.

Winds of Plague are just ridiculous overall though.

hismajestythepope 10-25-2008 09:54 PM

WBCC is pretty good tbh.

Pebster49 10-25-2008 11:38 PM

meh, not really
i just got By Sunset by The Eyes of a Traitor and its a solid EP
I've been on about them for ages tbh. They're not Deathcore really though. Amazing band live however.

jrowa001 10-26-2008 01:35 PM

theyre sort of deathcore imo. at least some touches of it. vey talented band for being so young

encmetalhead 10-26-2008 01:42 PM

Can Victory stop ruining the careers or bands with potential

(Note: Just checked them out today and by the two songs they fit best in this thread and actually sounds good if a tad generic)
