Yeah twice. I went to see the Iron Maiden football team play. The only member of IM on the team is Steve. My drummer's dad was playing in goal for them both times. First time I met him I was like "uhhh, You're Steve Harris".
I got a free copy of No More Lies signed by him though
Holy crrap, you're lucky.
anyone else going to the Philly show today?
Where's this?

I got Budoken about Christmas time, granted haven't watched it a lot, but I've watched the whole concert once or twice, haven't really seen the extras, but this sounds interesting.

Nah, just saw that.

And again, same thing about about 22:43.. Petrucci and Ruddess are practicing in Petrucci's room, and Petrucci says something is hard! :o

But yeah, in this Ruddess is so much cooler then I thought he was, and LaBrie's a fgt.

Lord Abortion 03-28-2006 05:25 PM

But he's the best singing faggot ever.

Chu 03-28-2006 05:28 PM

True, I'm not gonna argue there.

Edit: When Portnoy describes DT fans around the world. So true :p
Computer Geeks/Musicians ftw.

GenuineImitation 03-28-2006 06:08 PM

3 more days until I see them bitches.

The friend I was supposed to go with is grounded since he crashed his fathers car without asking permission to drive it. So now its me and my middle-aged, over weight father going. Which is cool because I got him into DT a few months ago. I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid.

My parents went to a Billy Joel concert a few years ago. When everyone was singing THe Piano Man, my dad was screaming shut up and sit down to the people in his general area. Picturing it is pretty funny.

Hey im just getting into DT. What cd should I buy first? My friend recomends Images and Words, but im not sure.

Element of LED 435 03-28-2006 08:09 PM

i cant wait!! my first concert is tommorrow night and it happens to be dream theater. since they came near me back in the year of 2000 i didnt think they wud come back even tho ive only been a fan of them for 2-3 years. But im just hoping theres a good set list. It seems theyre set lists have gotten shorter over the years, has anyone else realized this?

Listen to your friend. Get 'Images & Words,' but by judging your Metallica avatar you might be into 'Train of Thought.' It's Dream Theater's heaviest album to date but one of the best.

Actually thats exactly what he said, so he let me listen to his TOT and its great. Ive also listened to Six deegrees, but the songs are too long. I think im not used th that.

Darkness 03-28-2006 08:57 PM

^ Get Awake. It's heavy, most of the songs are a bit shorter then that of TOT and 6 Degrees, and, well, it's their best work. :)

Inkstar 03-28-2006 10:35 PM

Is there any chance of DT coming to Australia at all? I've been hanging out for them for YEARS. Dangnabbit. Need. DT. Now.

Definately imo.

National chaos sam 03-29-2006 05:22 AM

Awake still remains my fave album. even the sample in 6:00 has its moments..

kurrpt 03-29-2006 07:31 AM

the concert in Philly last night was amazing. I passed on getting their new, cool, 20 years tour shirt

Jev 03-29-2006 12:54 PM

I wanted one of those. Bloody expensive though.

kurrpt 03-29-2006 01:03 PM

yea, they wanted 35 american. Considering i paid 35 american last august for one, i couldnt see doing it again

Jev 03-29-2006 01:14 PM

Yeah they were something like £20 odd here. Which is about $35.
You touch Petrucci like I told you to?

kurrpt 03-29-2006 01:16 PM

i just found the shirt on ebay, but its a youth size large...

is that like an adult small or medium?

edit : nah man, didnt have a chance :upset:

Jev 03-29-2006 01:18 PM

Haha I have no idea. I'd say medium.

kurrpt 03-29-2006 01:21 PM

you think so?!?

/emails the seller

temporary 03-29-2006 01:56 PM

Wow, yesterday's gig in Philly was the most amazing concert I've been to! Heres the setlist:

1. The Root of All Evil
2. Some Majesty Song (probably Another Won)
3. A Fortune in Lies
4. Take the Time
5. Caught in a Web
6. Peruvian Skies (with Wish You Were Here/Wherever I May Roam parts)
7. Home
-Intermission-
8. War Inside My Head
9. The Test That Stumped Them All
10. Endless Sacrifice
11. I Walk Beside You
12. Sacrificed Sons
13. Octavarium
-Encore-
14. Piano Solo/Wait For Sleep
15. Learning to Live

The whole thing was just amazing. For one, I was really struck by the fact that Petrucci, Myung, and Rudess were far from statues on stage. Sure, they weren't Pete Townsend but they were really into the music. LaBrie was also a much better frontman than people give him credit for. He really got us involved, clapping and singing along to songs like Take the Time, Endless Sacrifice, and Learning to Live. Home was pretty amazing, too, and they had an amazing jam in Learning to Live. LaBrie also hit every single note in all the songs.

kurrpt 03-29-2006 01:59 PM

damn, i was there. Where did you sit?

and also, that metallica part they played was enter sandman, not wherever i may roam

Jev 03-29-2006 01:59 PM

Take the Time :(
Why won't they play me it...
