I went to Montreal with my French class once. It seems like a cool, exciting city but all we really did there was go to the Olympic Stadium and walk through some nature expo.

br3ad_man 08-13-2007 08:46 PM

I want to move overseas for a while after I finish uni in 3 years. Europe or the US or Canada.

I read most of this post thinking that you wrote Godzilla Live in Harlem. I cried tears of joy, only to wipe them away in disappointment.
sooo a weird thing happened today. i was looking at the tv guide trying to find something on and on MTVHD they had Gorillaz Live in Harlem on, so i'm like hell yeah i love the Gorillaz and i turn it on. it's Dennis Hopper in the middle of the reading in Fire Coming Out of a Monkey's Head (i think thats the name of the song...). but anyways it was awesome and they continue the album from there by track (maybe they just did Demon Days in full). so they play Don't Get Lost in Heaven, which was awesome because they had this big chorus of black people who actually sounded really great. then they start Demon Days, with a full orchestra and everything. everythings sounding perfect and im thinkin wow, this is an amazing performance. when the drums and everything kick in, a chill runs all over my body. and when the chorus came in again, i actually started getting teary-eyed. i mean i like Demon Days, and i always thought the title track was an awesome closer, but i never really thought it was THAT awesome... so i really don't know why this did it for me when a lot of other stuff that i'd think i like more never comes close to bringing me to tears, but i couldn't help it. i dunno. this was one of the first times music has brought me to tears. like it wasnt much, i had to wipe my eyes though. very weird experience. i just thought id share that. this may or may not prove to have been a good idea.
I SAW THAT WHOLE THING!! It's awesome. The lead singer actually shows his face at the end of the concert and does a few other songs. But the orchestra was amazing. Its no wonder they don't do many shows he has to get all those artists together.

i actually had to leave after that song, but recorded the rest. i need to go back and watch the rest. i'm considering getting it on DVD if it's available, because i reeeeally want to see the first 80%. like i said, the choir is really what did it for me on that Don't Get Lost in Heaven / Demon Days performance.

How cold do their winters get? I'm looking for something cooler than the winters here in Los Angeles, if you can call them winters.

pulseczar 08-14-2007 12:24 AM
How cold do their winters get? I'm looking for something cooler than the winters here in Los Angeles, if you can call them winters.
oh they're definitely "real" winters, with -10 to -20 (and probably colder at times) temperatures and snow. but that's in degrees Celsius, i don't know anything about Fahrenheit.
wanna fight about it
get ready for a considerable ass whoopin

dei 08-14-2007 12:25 AM

-10ºC is supposed to be like 14ºF. I think Los Angeles drops to about 50ºF in the winter, so yeah, that should do.

br3ad_man 08-14-2007 12:26 AM

Definitely don't come here. It's the middle of winter (or just after) and it's been well over 20 degrees C in the day for the past few weeks. Pretty annoying tbh.

I got a pretty deep cut on my finger yesterday and it's hurting so much at the moment. Stings like hell.

Zmev 08-14-2007 12:26 AM

(-10) degrees Celsius = 14 degrees Fahrenheit

coldness is stupid you'll get sick of it after about five minutes

Robert Crumb 08-14-2007 12:35 AM

I couldn't live in a place where it snows longterm because I ain't shoveling no walkways.

Thanks 08-14-2007 12:50 AM

Snow rules.

YDload 08-14-2007 12:51 AM

you live in the UP of Michigan so if you didnt like snow you probably would have stabbed yourself to death with an icicle by now

Robert Crumb 08-14-2007 12:54 AM

You primitives and your snow dwellings. Here in California, we've completely eliminated snow all together.

pulseczar 08-14-2007 12:56 AM

But you haven't eliminated the challenges of the heart as I've assessed from watching The OC.

Robert Crumb 08-14-2007 01:05 AM

It is true. The heat arouses our loins.
Does anyone here live in Montreal?
Nice place. Good music, and some damn good food.
Snow rules.
yes it does.

Happymeal 08-14-2007 08:01 AM

I liked snow for about 2 weeks when I moved here.

dei 08-14-2007 09:10 AM
coldness is stupid you'll get sick of it after about five minutes
No, I don't think so. I've lived in the heat for far too long. I think a change in temperature would do me good and IDK. Montreal looks much more compacted, which is great because then I can use public transport. I can't do that here because everything is too spread out.

I watched a GoonCon video on YouTube and I felt really bad. Like, I know most everyone who posts on a forum isn't the best looking person in the world but some of these guys were straight up ugly and nerdier than I could ever imagine. How can you post there?

Thanks 08-14-2007 10:36 AM

Psh, 14 degrees fahrenheit. Like that's cold...

wang masta flex 08-14-2007 10:44 AM

i ****in hate cold weather. in about two months i'll be suffering every day in blacksburg for the winter... the strongest and most frigid winds i have ever experienced... on my way to class at 8 in the morning... ugh. i can't wait until i graduate and move to a warmer climate

Apocalyptic Raids 08-14-2007 10:48 AM

I like my warm climate.

wang masta flex 08-14-2007 10:49 AM

do you also like your thousands of local deadly animal species?

i feel like that's the only reason i wouldn't want to live in Australia

like every time i went to the beach with my family i would be afraid that my children would get killed by some little jellyfish or some ****

AKid2 08-14-2007 10:51 AM

winter rules mostly because everyone hates it. you can never really take a nice walk on the town in the summer because there are always like a trillion people around. taking a walk at midnight when its like 20 F out is so amazing.
