perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:20 AM

hahaha 123. i remember when Cochise came out i was like hoooly shiiiit this is TIIIIIIGHT and i still really like that song and video (esp the video) but almost everything else ive ever heard of theirs has left me slightly underwhelmed

Thanks 05-02-2007 12:27 AM

They are somehow pretty awesome live, though. I mean, when I saw them in 2003 I was muchly satisfied.

perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:28 AM

i do imagine they would put on a pretty sweet show. like if their performance of Cochise looks anything like the music video it would probably destroy a festival

WAAAKKKKEEEE UUUPPP!!!

perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:35 AM

rage against the machine is one of the few bands that remains just as cool to me today as it did in middle school. like i just listened to a lot of nu metal and stuff and very little remains in my itunes playlist (actually back then i used winamp but still)

class 05-02-2007 12:38 AM

sublime was cool in middle school...

they're ok now..not as much as in middle school but listenable...they're so catchy tbh

perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:45 AM

yeah theyre very good at what they do. im not in the mood for it often but when i am theyll be one of the first (and only tbh) i go to. there are sooo many shitty shitty shitty bands who do that style of music. and actually that reminds me 311 is still very cool to me too. at least all up until they got off of Capricorn.. which was Soundsystem on. from then on its hit or miss but mostly miss.

[confession]
i have been known to break out some korn every now and then. like now of course i can only enjoy it ironically but very much so. its great for what it is. hahahha i love his mommy mommy wah wah wah lyrics and whiny voice. plus the drummer is pretty good
[/confession]

Thanks 05-02-2007 12:48 AM

I joined this forum in middle school, and the username I chose was Zappa. That means I'm cool or something, so there.

Him!

Here I am different in this normal world
Why did you tease me? Made me feel upset
****ing stereotypes feeding their heads
I am ugly. Please just go away

Him!
I can see inside you fine
This blessing in disguise
Him!
Why do you treat me this way?
Made to hate to stay (Made the hurt stay)

I sound like I can never seem to escape
all the laughing, all th pain
If you were me, what would you do?
Nothing, probaly. You'd just throw me away

Faget!

I'm just a pretty boy, whatever you call it
You wouldn't know a real man if you saw it
It keeps going on day after day, son
you fake, if we don't want none
I'm sick and tired of people treating me this way everyday
Who gives a ****?!
Right now I got something to say to all the people that think
I'm strange and I should be out here locked up in a cage
You don't know what the hell is up now anyway
You got this pretty-boy feeling
like I'm enslaved to a world that never
appreciated ****
YOU CAN SUCK MY DICK AND ****ING LIKE IT!!!

He had my gun but he had to find the money
(He might come, but he has a body mighty)
any say, anyway, don't wanna say, anyway, any say,
going away, don't wanna say, anyway

I'm just a pretty boy, I'm not supposed to **** a girl
I'm just a pretty boy, living in this ****ed up world

ALL MY LIFE!!! WHO AM III!!?
ALL MY LIFE!!! WHO AM III!!?
ALL MY LIFE!!! WHO AM III!!?
ALL MY LIFE!!! WHO AM III!!?

I'm just a faget!
Faget!
I'm a faget!
Faget!
I'm not a faget
What am I?
Faget!
You mother ****ing queers!

Kyle 05-02-2007 05:44 AM

Watching those RATM videos makes me really want to see them live. One of the few solid 'rock' bands that never seem to lose credability, but I guess that's because they have so much more to their sound.

RedMorningLight 05-02-2007 09:14 AM

The leeds lineup was added to yesterday or something...kinda suprised at how many bands with a little back catalogue are playing good spots, but I guess that leaves room for really good acts to play the second and third stages. Example being LCD soundsystem being third on the 2nd stage while a really awful band like Little Man Tate have got a main stage spot. I guess its because the organisers are favouring British acts that can pull in the 'lads and lasses' crowd.

ATM 05-02-2007 09:29 AM

ATM 05-02-2007 12:25 PM

I should check out DPD. I enjoyed most of what you put up on the mailing list the other day.

perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:31 PM

yeah, and sweeeet thanks for dling. what did you and did you not enjoy?

ATM 05-02-2007 12:37 PM

I enjoyed the Most Serene Republic, Dr. Octagon, and I forget what else.

I am planning on doing a mega-issue filled with good stuff.

perriwinkle 05-02-2007 12:48 PM

niice yeah those are both good, maybe i'll do the other album i have for both of those artists. for MSR its shorter but possibly more interesting and for Dr. Octagon its like ten years older or something so the production is what you would expect from that but its excellent too. and hell yeah do so, if you did i would definitely listen and let you know what i think
