Ok, I'm done working for the night/morning so I'm of the bed.
G'night, and I leave you with my charts for the day/night/whatever. |
Like the co-worker's daughter...she goes to a school which, according to my mom, is all-white.
In other words, she's one of those New England Liberals who champions the rights of minorities but has no idea how to act around or talk to one.
 I know exactly what you mean. Although, technically I am a New England liberal and sort of take offense to that. :upset:
That's how it is with people in New England. They're liberal because everyone in the region is, but they're no less ignorant than anyone else--they rely on racial stereotypes too, more than anyone else in the country thinks they do. Hell, on average, Southerners are more receptive of blacks than New Englanders.
That's true to an extent. I guess people lose sight of the fact that it was only Northern legislation that was relatively receptive of blacks back in the day. However, there are cities like New York, Boston, and Pittsburgh of the Northeast that do not exactly have a great history with minorities. I just hate when people single out New England. There's a reason we have the most esteemed colleges, by God! |
Just in case others are interested, here's a song I just uploaded for a different thread;
Dinosaur Jr. feat. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien - The Missing Link |
Haha I love Del. Thanks, man.
|
You're welcome :). Have you heard Dinosaur Jr. before? From what little I know by them, their guitarist is excellent, and he kicks ass all over this song.
|
Nope. Only heard OF them. But this guitarist is d@mn good from what I hear on this song. Are they always rap-rock?
|
Nope, as far as I know, this is a one off track. They're usually, very generally, indie rock (their sound seems to be renowned as really hard to pin down properly). Usually I think J Mascis (the guitarist) does the vocals as well, but I'm not sure. It's the guy who does backing vocals on this track anyway though (in the background on the chorus), whoever it is.

Since when did intelligence have anything to do with racial ignorance? |
Hey, guys.
omg arguing in the thread. NP: Black Sabbath - The Wizard. omg |
Since when did intelligence have anything to do with racial ignorance?
Most of the time when people become more educated and learn more they become less ignorant when it comes to race. But it all really depends on how you grow up. |
You know, no one loves the excitement and intensity of the NBA playoffs more than I do...but sometimes, I miss the dead bodies!
Oh Magic, how far will go you? You don't exactly see Larry Bird or Dr. J doing these things. Also, TNT's "Inside the NBA" team of EJ, Chuck, and Kenny = best sports studio team evar.
Most of the time when people become more educated and learn more they become less ignorant when it comes to race. But it all really depends on how you grow up.
But sometimes they only LEARN it instead of EXPERIENCING it, and when it comes to racial relations, experience is just as valuable, if not more valuable. I mean, these kids can learn all they want, but they still wouldn't know how to act around a black person or an Arab, and they certainly wouldn't feel any more comfortable. |
You know, no one loves the excitement and intensity of the NBA playoffs more than I do.
I will love the excitement once some close games start happening. Every game has had like 20 pt margin so far this round except todays Wash vs. Miami game. |
I was making fun of the ads for Law and Order that Magic is doing for TNT.
he says the line, "You know, no one loves the excitement and intensity of the NBA playoffs more than I do...but sometimes, I miss the dead bodies!" |
I believe I can get used to neglecting sleep at night to write books, listen to Aerosmith and go on the internet.
Since I clearly said it did, yes.
Tony Danza gets owned in a go-cart race
You're right, I'm taking your criticism too personally. I probably didn't spend as long as I should have on it, but I was working on it between studying for exams, etc. Thanks for putting the 2pac uploads in it. He needs to be recognized for the genius he was. And I also agree about the minimal history about the artists that I put in the FG, but I guess I just assumed the music would speak for itself. We cool? |
It's okay, it's okay. We're tight like Manny and Papi.

 At Jom's Mario Brothers joke. |
Good evening all. I just returned to MX, after a massive load of university coursework. Wow. Just wow. Too much stuff in too little a time. Ah well.
So, the highlight was cutting open a whole chicken and cane toad in a kind of "open dissection" (no aim, just investigating inner workings). Well, the chicken had crapped itself when they broke its neck, and so it stank to high heaven. Also, once I had broken its ribs and exposed the visceral mass, I accidentally split one of the pre-formed eggs, releasing the foulest rotten egg odour I have smelt in a long while. Despite that, birds are really interesting, so my lab partner and I amused ourselves finding and investigating the airsacs/lungs, and also making the wings beat by pulling on the pectoralis minorus muscles. Also, the cane toads heart was beating when we open the chest, despite it being frozen for several days. We attributed it to the nerve endings being excited by the metal probe we pinned them back with. Even so, it was morbidly fun and entertaining. What's happened on MX in my absence? (Monday Night Mayhem thread may be done tonight  ) |
This is my last day of real school. I have ISS for 10 days and we only have 9 days left. Not to mention I have to start out next year on the first day of school with ISS. :(
ISS = room you sit in all day without talk it's basically a detention that lasts your entire school day which is like 8 hours. |
Alright guys, tonight is the talent show. I'll be play guitar for some people singing "Lean On Me", but my real time to shine is when me and another guitar are playing "Wish You Were Here" and "Layla (unplugged)" for the last two acts of the show. I thought that'd be a good way to go out. We went over the songs yesterday and it sounds sweet, I get to improv solo at the end :D
|
Sweet, good luck, sir. I may get a chance to bust my "playing live" cherry in a few weeks. My buddy plays in a blues band and he said I could practice with them a few times, then hit up a gig with em.

Riva - sounds wholesome :-/ Nice avatar. |
yeah... I actually haven't sung live with my band, first real practice tomorrow though
 get ready for some incoherent screams and growling... and a drunken arse wandering aimlessly across the stage, screaming in the lead guitarist's face, before returning to the centre and unleashing a hellish inhuman 10 second scream- and into hammer smashed face... |
So I was messing about with photos for my Geography field work, you can get some pretty cool results.

Just inverted the colours in Paint.
I don't need any of that photoshop crap. |
I figured. My brother uses photoshop because he's an aspiring comic book artist and he colors in all his work with that sometimes, but when I try to use it, I scream "FUCK!" and go doodle in paint.
|
Paint is, undoubtedly, the best art progam. Ever.

Hellz yeah bitch. Changing subjects, I've been listening to a hell of a lot of Clutch lately. God, I love that band. |
Yeah, they are really good. I haven't heard that much of them though, aside from their latest album which my brother's friend kindly demonstrated when I went to visit.
