I agree. Snowy took a lot of the band. The songs strike a similar chord to The Book of Heavy Metal, the songs that snowy didn't write. It's softer and more hard rock than Evilized or DragonSlayer was. Niklas voice has matured though and keeps the band sounding really really solid.

If you want to hear some samples of it, head on over to my site. (http://www.theexitwound.com) I have roughly half the album up for listening. Don't kill my bandwith please. :)

The disc came with a second 3" miniCD with 5 bonus songs. Total of 17 songs. One of the tracks My Number One is a cover of the hit single from Elena Paparizou, winner of the 50th Eurovision Contest. Being from America, I have absolutely no idea what this is all about sooo... Wikipedia was my friend. However, it's probably one of the more unique Dream Evil songs they've ever done.

I wish Lord Tim would show up again. He was pretty awesome.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-03-2006 09:41 PM

He has probably been busy with the new Dungeon album.

pate 11-04-2006 11:51 PM

The new Dream Evil is solid.

Lord Tim 11-05-2006 01:43 AM

I'm around! :)

For some reason my login doesn't stay active and Firefox keeps forgetting the password even though it's in the saved list, so it makes it hard to reply on the fly sometimes. :(

Glad everyone who got the final Dungeon album likes it! :) Not sure when it'll be out in EU/USA... long story... but it'll be up in an online store that's added to the Dungeon website this week so you'll be able to grab it from there if you're keen.

Cheers, folks - hope you're all doing well! :)

Apocalyptic Raids 11-05-2006 01:45 AM

Hello Tim.

The reason you don't stay logged in is probably because the Admin disabled the 'Remember Me' option for security reasons :(

I haven't got around to picking up the album yet, but the samples I heard a month or two back sounded great, so I definitely intend on it.

Stormrider 11-05-2006 09:52 AM

The Remember me buttom is still there for the Blue skin though.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-05-2006 09:54 AM

Yeah but the blue skin is ugly :o

Dark ftw

Stormrider 11-05-2006 09:57 AM

I always use the Blue Skin heheh :p

The only time I ever used black was for about 5 minutes when I was trying them out.

pate 11-05-2006 01:46 PM

Blue is the best. Old school huzzah.

So I'm on a Winters Bane kick again. :)

Riva 11-05-2006 06:36 PM

Nah, I'm on black skin now, black... like my soul?

Good to see you're still around Tim. I also like how saying your name summons you to the forum. :p

Steerpike 11-05-2006 06:53 PM

Tim's like a genie in that way. Only he comes bearing albums and tabs instead of wishes. Fair trade-off.
The new Dream Evil is solid.
I just got it yesterday and am actually a bit disapointed. Fire! Battle! In Metal! may be one of their best and most ass kicking songs ever, not to mention the great sing along quality. However, the rest of the album flat out bored me. All the choruses sounded similar and nothing got me going. Oh well, maybe it will grow on me.

/Has also been on a Winters Bane binge

MetalOz 11-09-2006 08:10 AM

Anyone else heard the new Tarot album? I'm liking it a lot. There's a few places where the keyboards are a bit overpowering in the mix but the songwriting is good. Tommi "Tuple" Salmela is now a fulltime member of the band. I can't tell if he or Marco is doing the vocals, they sound very much alike.

Stormrider 11-09-2006 03:42 PM

I've only heard Tarot's uhh...what ever the album with the song I Rule on it is called :p. Never really did anything for me :-/

I deleted the album...though I can't say I gave it a very big chance.

NP Blind Guardian - Nightfall

1. Where did you get it?
2. What can I do to get said album?

It was released Oct 27th. I'm uploading it as we speak along with the You single (has a Blue Oyster Cult cover song on it) and the video for Ashes to the Stars. The video looks like Marco is singing the verses and Tommi is singing the choruses on that song.

Stormrider 11-10-2006 05:53 PM

My teacher today, made me listen to soem Winters Bane today. Listened to the first 45 seconds of a song off Heart of a Killer. That was sweet stuff ! I need to get that.

Tyr 11-10-2006 05:55 PM

Winters Bane did absolutely nothing for me. I think I'm drifting away from power metal a bit.

pate 11-10-2006 07:40 PM

I've been ranting about Winters Bane for how long, Jammie?

I'll forward the issue of the DU that had those albums.

Stormrider 11-10-2006 07:51 PM

Oh, thanks a bunch, man !

Yeah, I know you've been talking about them for a long time. I just hadn't checked them out yet :p

Nostalgia 11-10-2006 10:28 PM

I really like Winters Bane actually. I just got Redivivus and it's awesome so far.

NP: Winters Bane - Waves Of Fury

Iron Bars 11-11-2006 08:28 AM

I checked out Winters Bane this week. Heart of a Killer is nice, I like Rippers vocals, but rest didn't really catch my attention.

I'm back on a big Slough Feg binge this week. Traveller is probably my favorite album ever. The guitar is so catchy and the vocals fit it so perfectly. Too bad they've never been to Europe for a tour.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-11-2006 08:31 AM

Traveller has been getting a few plays from me lately, it's definitely my favourite Slough Feg album.

Riva 11-11-2006 08:32 AM

I still love Atavism II the most out of all their songs though.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-11-2006 08:35 AM

High Passage/Low Passage is my top Slough Feg track. Addendum Galactus and Hiberno-Latin Invasion aren't far behind, either.

NP: Pink Floyd - One of These Days

Iron Bars 11-11-2006 08:42 AM

High passage/Low passage is my most listened track as of this week on last FM. I love the way that song is build up with the nice solo at the end.

NP: The Lord Weird Slough Feg - Vargr moon

Tyr 11-11-2006 09:08 AM

Traveller is indeed their best album.

Lord Abortion 11-11-2006 09:35 AM

Slough Feg are pretty great, but not my favourite kind of stuff... Got into Manowar alot recently.

Tyr 11-11-2006 09:40 AM

I don't think I've ever heard Manowar.
