ThrashMaster27 06-03-2005 03:50 AM

Yeah, Thrown To The Wolves isn't really a good representation of the album. It's my fave song of it...still a decent album if you ask me. Lot of Punky stuff on it.

GraveRobbersINC 06-03-2005 05:37 AM

I saw a few videos from Death Angel a while ago and I thought it was reallllly boring, but perhaps I'll give it another listen.

metal-militia 06-03-2005 01:11 PM
Who here likes Death Angel? They've kind of been my thrash band of the week and I'm liking 'em. I know their stuff was by no means inovative at the time, but it still seems like some solid music. I like The Ultra-Violence and their newest one, The Art of Dying. Wasn't a huge fan of Act III though.
I think they are ok, but nothing special. The Ultra-Violence is pretty good, but theres nothing reall worth getting after that.

RCA 06-03-2005 03:18 PM

I like The Ultra-Violence, and a few songs here and there on their other records. As for their new one, my favorite song on that is Thicker Than Blood. Very punkish, not very thrashy, but OH SO CATCHY! :thumb:

NP: Rush - Red Barchetta (live)

FatalEnergy 06-03-2005 03:57 PM

I only have Act III and it's decent at best. I would like to hear The Ultra-Violence, because I've heard it's pretty good. ^Hey, that's my favorite Rush song next to YYZ.

NP: Accuser - Down By Law

Funniest thing, is that it was probably for the song BORED!
BORED! BORING?! GET IT! HAHA! Ahh man I'm funny sometimes.

...Than again... maybe I'm not.

So I saw Splatterhouse this past weekend. They're pretty thrashy. Other than that, uh...well no thrash news in my life. I've been a grindin' and a goregrindin' the general public up these days.

DimebagDarrell 06-04-2005 10:43 AM

Holy ****!!

Heathen have just been added to the Nuclear Assault gig at the end of june
that is going to be an extremely amazing gig!!

heathen just destroy.

sounds good. Where is the gig going to be?

RavenousMetalist87 06-04-2005 11:33 PM

The stupidest **** happened to me today...

I went with my mom and sister to Circuit City, and well, I was bored as usual. I go browsing the rock/pop music section, and I find Peace Sells...But Who's Buying.

Well, here I am, all happy, 12 bucks too. Tower wants 18, everyone else wants to be a bitch and charge more. So when I go to pay, the lady asks me for my California ID...

I'm there, thinking...wtf?

Turns out at all the major stores now they want to see proof when you're buying PARENTAL ADVISORITY labelled CDs...f*cking Arnold and Bush...

Luckily, the lady let me still buy it since the computer didn't prompt her to ask for it. I managed to walk away without a problem, but that's the last time I'm ever buying a CD there at Circuit City.

Finals are this Mon.-Wed. for me, so I won't be posting back starting tommorrow evening till Wed. Afternoon.

FatalEnergy 06-05-2005 12:08 AM

That's strange, I recently, bought "Attack of the Killer B's" at Circuit City and it has a Parental Advisory sticker on it, and they didn't care, and I live in godforsaken Sactown (Sacramento,CA)

NP: Slayer - Cleanse the Soul (this is a highly underrated song)

Another new Heathen song!

I like Dying Season more, but I still dig the heck out of this one. This has definite NWOBHM influences, and it also has that cool mosh-march type riff in the middle.

Another great track from Heathen! Looks like the album will indeed kick ass as it has been projected to!

Thanks! It's about time we have a thrash revival that's not sacrificing thrash for groove or gothenburg melodeath wankery. Heathen owns :D This stuff really sounds like it's from the late 80's

Apocalyptic Raids 06-05-2005 02:05 AM
Censorship gayness
That sucks. I've never been asked for ID when buying an album.

metal-militia 06-05-2005 04:07 AM

I got Peace Sells ages ago and they weren't bothered about my age. Thats just ****, i can't belive you'd need ID for a CD.

GraveRobbersINC 06-05-2005 06:45 AM

To the censorship, it's crap but I get that every once in a while, mostly when I was younger, and mostly on Mature rated video games. It's crap, but I'm sure if they had enough angry parents calling up screaming about how they let their son or daughter buy this god forsaken trash, they'd change their policy. Crap, but I see where they're coming from.

New Nuclear Assault leaked on bit torrent networks like 14 weeks ahead of time.

I'm probably going to download it sometime soon and see how it is. I can hardly wait until the new Heathen CD comes out.

FatalEnergy 06-05-2005 06:41 PM

The dude finally put up the rules for the cover, so how is our Bonded By Blood coming along?

Freezing Moon 06-05-2005 07:14 PM

I've pretty much got the whole song down, and I'll be recording it sometime this week probably.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-05-2005 08:38 PM

He says there are no song limits so are we just gonna do Bonded?

RCA 06-05-2005 09:38 PM

If we can do two songs, I'd love to do Hammerhead as well. Another song about killing poseurs!

Let's get Bonded done first though, I want to see how my Baloff impression comes out.

Freezing Moon 06-05-2005 09:52 PM

I say we get BbB done for sure, then try something completely over the top technical or fast, something like a Coroner or Dark Angel song. It would be awesome if we could pull it off. First we should get Bonded by Blood finished though.

NP: Dark Angel - Death Is Certain

Stubb 06-05-2005 10:14 PM

Anyone up for slayer?

alright, I'm up for that

We could do Merciless Death, I can play the bass intro

I'm down if I can find a decent tab. Usually I can't, because I can't use gp or powertabs.
I'm down if I can find a decent tab. Usually I can't, because I can't use gp or powertabs.
There is no GP or PT for it anyway, so it dosen't really matter anyway and the only tabs I've seen of it don't include solos, so it would probably be better for you to pick a different song

NP: King Diamond - A Visit From the Dead

Apocalyptic Raids 06-06-2005 12:58 AM

I agree, Powertabs tend to be pretty rare for any metal outside of the bigger bands.

What about Chemical Warfare?

FatalEnergy 06-06-2005 01:05 AM

Chemical Warfare sounds cool, but I'm not exactly calling the shots

Thanks, Darkness Descends is pure fucking awesomeness.

What CD is Chemical Warfare on?

I think we should do a Coroner song, but I'll settle for anything (with a good tab).

NP: Coroner - Arc-Lite

It's a sweet song though.

Indeed it is. Pretty fucking heavy for 1984.

Nah. GP4 is so much better for writing songs IMO. However, Power Tabs is better for learning or presenting tabs. It's good to have both.

I can't wait to hear the BBB cover. Did you guys decide on whether or not you're using a real drummer or program?

Freezing Moon 06-06-2005 05:45 PM

Real drummer would be nice, but nobody has really stepped forward and said they'll do it.

metal-militia 06-07-2005 03:52 AM

are you lost just playing Bonded By Blood and nothing else?
