any thoughts on MC's The Ten Commandments?

retribution is good, i think i may check into it.

I was messing around with my voice earlier and I could get a decent low inhale growl, bree and high, but I can't figure out how to mid-range growl properly. I need you eleventeen.

Vocal versatility is never a bad thing, throwing in a bree here and there never made something gay, it's just when theyre overused that it can totally ruin a song and make an otherwise good vocal performance extremely annoying.

Mid range is normally similar in tone to your speaking voice. It should go along the same technique as a high scream at a lower pitch, but less jaw dropping, and alter tongue position slightly towards the roof of the mouth.

i've been practicing on entombment of a machine, and it's damn fun, but my midrange sounds like ****. Thanks for the tip.

TBH I was struggling with my midrange up until last spring, it's probably the simplist scream you could do, yet for some reason so many people just want to force it out in a Matt Heafy-esque way.

EDIT: major emphasis on opening your throat and really throwing it from the gut for those screams specifically, if you do them wrong, it really shows because in most cases, mid-range is the voice you use to speak, sing, yell, everything, you DO NOT wan't to damage that range of your voice.

So me and my best friend and the bassist from Paraphilia are starting a grind/emo band called Super Slutty Strippers real soon.

Basic idea is Repulsion with Underoath influenced acoustic parts with spoken word.

It's not gonna be a serious project, but it's not gonna be scene grind.

And all three of us are gonna do vocals.

Nostalgia 09-23-2007 08:16 PM

Dude, how many bands do you have?

Txus 09-23-2007 08:17 PM

And why do all of them suck so hard?

Anglachel 09-23-2007 08:17 PM

how many "bands" does every scene kid (try to) make?

Eliminator 09-23-2007 08:17 PM

sugnim.
Dude, how many bands do you have?
The projects keep dying because of lack of motivation, it's fun to play shows and record shit while we can though.
