All the explanations of Animals are similar, but some seemed a little off. I'd say Obi One Kenodi (and anyone who said something similar to his) seems the most correct.

I remembered the first time I tripped out on mushrooms, I was listening to Bob Marley when it hit. Then someone put on The Wall (DVD). Later in the night when the trip was winding down we went into my friends little crawlspace under his stairs (which we call The Cave, or the Mush Room) which fits like about five people max in a circle. We put on Dark Side of the Moon and smoked some bowls. It was a really fun night.

I'd say Schyma's sounded pretty amazing though because he was out in beautiful nature during the daytime, which is the best for tripping. We were in a basement with like 10 other people who weren't on shrooms so it was a little weird because they all tried to like mess with our heads and stuff and it was annoying. I think PATGOD and Saucerful of Secrets are the best for tripping, one of the best salvia trips I ever had was to the song Saucerful of Secrets.

NP: Echoes... again.
I swear this song is crack for crackers.

/:cool:

Let's discuss Echoes... again...

magicbus 09-08-2005 04:06 PM

I was just playing Echoes. It might be my favorite Floyd tune to jam with.

thickasabrick 09-08-2005 04:09 PM

Echoes is sooo beautiful. One of the best pieces ever written by Pink Floyd.

robo2448 09-08-2005 04:11 PM

Echoes is amazing. My favorite song on Meddle is One of These Days though.

/waits for disagreements

Not exactly horrible trip just extremly depressing trip. It taught me alot about tripping though. I want to trip to Out to Lunch next time. :D

I actually may agree with you. Echoes would be much better if they cut down the part in the middle. I mean, its cool and all, but it really cuts in. The first eight minutes and from eightneen minutes in on out simply own, though.

Fearless is also a bomb song on meddle, thats like my second favorite song on that album, just listen to the lyrics its just like omg, they actually make sense

BigTrav415 09-08-2005 04:32 PM

One of These Days>Echoes>Fearless>A Pillow of Winds>San Tropex>Seamus

EDIT: But Seamus>most non-Floyd songs. Ever.

Today at school I was reading some book, and it had some **** in it like inside out, and all day at school I just kept thinking of the song "Wearing The Inside Out".

Kinda off topic.. somewhat. Anywho...

I must say Keep Talking has some a ****ing AMAZING talk box solo.

Metalika 09-08-2005 05:16 PM

There is no song called We Don't Need No Education. That song's actually called Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. There are three parts to Another Brick in the Wall.

magicbus 09-08-2005 05:20 PM
i havent heard many of the songs that u guys are talkin about i must say
Probably because you listen to made up songs about education.

Shazzam 09-08-2005 05:34 PM

lol seamus

I'd honestly say it's one of my least favorite Floyd songs, but I love the version on Pompeii (I can't remember what it's really called).

Well, I'm sorry to say you'll likely get hooked. Do yourself a favor and download a song called Echoes (it's 23 minutes long), or just buy the cd Meddle.

You'll have a new favorite song ;)

getting it now ty and 23 mins long jeez, i love long songs

BigTrav415 09-08-2005 06:40 PM

Prepare to get your ass owned by Floyd buddy. The entire album album Meddle is crack for crackers (god, i can't get that out of my head :( ) Oh, and hey, if you like good long songs, also get Shine on You Crazy Diamond. It's split into two songs, SOYCD Parts I-V, and SOYCD VI-IX. I personally prefer I-V, but that's opinion. VI-XI is ace as well though, don't get me wrong :)

Lunch 09-08-2005 06:42 PM

I think I'm one of few that prefer SOYCD 6-9. The guitar solo from 2:30-5:00 is orgasmic.

robo2448 09-08-2005 06:57 PM

Who was the bassist for Floyd in DSOT? He's much better than Waters. Of course it's better with Roger and the band together, but this guy is a better bassist than Roger. He's got a nice solo in Money.

It was Waters...

Lunch 09-08-2005 07:08 PM

The Delicate Sound of Thunder is from 1988 (I think), so that would put them after the break up.

His name is Guy Pratt. I personally don't think he's that great, his style didn't fit Pink Floyd's sound that well. Waters' sound was much darker.

That solo on Money is mediocre, as far as bass solos go. The rest of that song on DSOT is awesome though. Guy Pratt never sings in it, which helps.

Metalika 09-08-2005 11:24 PM

echoes was incredible, i am also getting shine on you crazy diamond ty guys for the great songs

I actually like the solo quite a bit, but its not all that bad. I will agree that Waters fit the band more. Pratt did a pretty good job of mimicking Waters' voice in Run Like Hell.

No problem man. If you're into heavier, more rocking songs, I'd definitely advise One of These Days. My favorite song on Meddle :thumb:

DeusExMachina 09-09-2005 01:43 PM

There's a bass solo in the DSOT version of Money? :amaze:

I will listen to it now.

Guy Pratt played bass on Pulse, right? I loved the bass intro to Learning to Fly. Simple, but great.

It's probably my second favorite on Meddle (Echoes is first), the bass line basically sounds like a galloping horse through the whole song, which kicks ass.
