What's Gorilla Glue? Superglue?

Ender_ 09-03-2006 08:00 AM
What's Gorilla Glue? Superglue?
A polyurethane adhesive used for all kinds of stuff. Its supposed to be really f'ing strong, almost to the point of industrial epoxy.

Jon 09-03-2006 09:13 AM

Epoxy is the shit.

It gets you high, *and* you can cause days of mayhem with it

POINTLESS5448 09-03-2006 11:00 AM

damn those shoes are ****ed up! do you skate in them?

asdf 09-03-2006 11:18 AM

There's no way I would be able to skate with them. They have no grip at the bottom.

But no, I don't. I just really hard on my shoes. I've had them for a bit over 4 years now, and I don't even wear them all year (boots in the winter, sandals in the summer, and the fact that I own two other pairs of converse).

I just refuse to throw them away. They were 12 dollars, and I've definitely gotten my money's worth.

This woman at gillette stadium apparently actually fell for the epoxy on the toilet seat trick and had to go to the hospital to get it neerly surgically removed.

how'd you get them for $12?
This woman at gillette stadium apparently actually fell for the epoxy on the toilet seat trick and had to go to the hospital to get it neerly surgically removed.
haha, thats fun stuff.

Flagjacket 09-03-2006 12:55 PM

They're Chucks, dude. They're already like, 20 bucks.

Jon 09-03-2006 02:59 PM

Chucks are the equivalent of $50 here =/

Well, they were bought before Nike had bought out converse. I also bought them used (however, the condition you see them in now is caused all by me. They looked and felt completely new when I bought them, other than one little scuff on the front).

I also have some expensive plaid converse that I got as a gift after the whole Nike deal.

Then I got another pair for 10 dollars used (but practically new), which would've been 12, but he gave me a discount because I was also a vendor where he was selling them.

I scout out the deals.
Well, they were bought before Nike had bought out converse.
WHEN WAS THAT?!?

My grandma gave me a pair of converse shoes (they hurt like a mofo, no arch support) that didn't fit my uncle. I might cover them with anti-Nike signs now. Yeah, like, when I get off my lazy arse and so some DIY, it's been about 4 or 5 months since I last made anything!

POINTLESS5448 09-03-2006 08:26 PM

did vans get bought out by someone because old skools are like $40-45 now and they used to be no more than $20. i cant afford a new ****ing pair of old skools its bull.

since this is the diy thread i have spraypainted a pair of oldskools so i could wear them to school. they look pretty ****ty though. i also dyed my other pair from brown to black for the same reason. they looks cool as ****. ill post pics if you want.

ibanezman575 09-03-2006 08:42 PM

Michigan has chucks for $20, thats insane. Either way i dont like them. i would rather get PFflyers (new balence). also those blackspotshoes look really sweet.

Flagjacket 09-03-2006 09:52 PM

I have PF Flyers, they're too small though. Anyoen willign to buy a 9.5 pair of Sandlot PF Flyers? I'm serious, they looks exactly liekthe ones in the movie. They're in really good condition, only wore them for one weekend.

I don't know, but I know they're made in China. I was dissapointed in that when I got a pair of checkerboards a while ago. I have enough problems wearing something name brand and trendy; it's even worse that they're most certainly made in sweatshops.

A bit ago I made a Critical Mass shirt. I think it turned out pretty sweet. It's on the back, too, so people can actually see it while I'm riding:

I also remade that ASS stencil today. Turned out much better:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v66/idiosyncratic/patches010.jpg

It rained all day today, so I took the time to create some back-to-school fashions and sewed some patches on my bag:

What does the A.S.S stand for?

That Critical Mass shirt looks awesome, really great work man.

They are a sweet homocore band. myspace.com/assrecords

(and I think the CM shirt turned out better on camera then in person -- the flash improves the contrast and hides the brush strokes.)

Flagjacket 09-03-2006 10:14 PM

If your shoes cost less than 60 dolalrs they were made in a sweatshop.

True dat. Mine cost £10. Well, that's what the price-tag said, but I haggled it down to "If I see you in this store again I'm calling the police!". I think it was a good deal.

I am so popoolar.

I have a DIY problem. I finished all my grass over the weekend, but I wanna get druggied up. What can I make/find that will work, and it has to be free, or cost less than £1 in pennies from the penny jar?

Danger Bird 09-04-2006 01:19 PM
I've made it so my shoes can last even longer than they already have past their life expectancy.

Does anyone have the problem where the bottom part of their shoe can completely separate from their shoe like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/asdf23/crappyshoes1.jpg

Because if that's ever the case, gorilla glue is your best bet. It really worked great for me. I had tried using a hot glue gun a few times before, but that doesn't work at all.

Then I started sewing up the big holes in the sides:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/asdf23/crappyshoes2.jpg

I know these shoes aren't worth saving... but I'm very attached to them.
God dammit dude, just pick a color scheme and stick with it. Your shoes hurt my eyes.
