i have to tune my schecter to drop D. Stupid new floyd rose
|
My floyd rose is cool. The fine tuner on the E lets me go from E to D without releasing the locking nuts.

how would i do this.....sounds extremely good |
Meh it depends if your gutiar has the little thing. It's called a drop d-er or something...i remember reading about it, the bridge has an extra little bit which allows you the clamp it for E or drop it for D, or something..
EDIT : my typing was atrocious, thats what you get from reading a book + typing with one hand. |
nah, i heard about people having the fine tuner all the way in when they tune it for low E, then when they unthread the screw, its in Drop D
|
if you guys want to do 46 & 2 i can have that recorded this afternoon. guitar obviously. any other needed songs let me know, i know nearly every tool song (pathetic i know) but i could most certainly play just about song you may need.
sorry not gonna list em all |

Thats pretty much what I do. However, mine seems to give me a little more working room with the process |

right now mine is like around the middle of the screw. Would i unlock the nut, screw in the screw about 98% the whole way, tune it for E, relock the nut, then see if taking the screw out the whole way would get me that low? wouldnt that mess up the bridge, or no? |
I highly doubt it would mess up the bridge, its not showed any problems with mine. lus its only a fine change of a step each time, so thee are no major tension changes.
Try it out and see if it works. Some poorly made Floyd roses dont work as well at this than others (i've tried this trick on a few guitars for friends and the cheaper ones seem to only reach 1/2 step difference at best) |
what i meant was would the bridge be unlevel since the tension would change. My floyd looks pretty bad arse, since its on my brand new guitar i got like 2 weeks ago
|
No, its the same, as the bridge doesnt change the tension, its the screw base underneath that lower/raise. The bridge stays level no matter what.
|
well heres hoping
|
Can someone update me as to what's going on with the Tool covering? /out of the loop
|
Ken is recording drums any day now. Guitar will wait till we get the beat section to play with. And people are sharing their guitar embarassement moments.
|
i forgot to record my part of me, adam did it, says it sucks, someone else did it, said it sucked.
I was just introduced to LTE so i didnt have much time for anything else. Hopefully ill get 'er done today for ya |
i call it stupid and pointless, you call it spam, same differenece
I wasnt insulting you I was just saying he was doing pointless annoying spam. Calm down. |
Oh BTW the recordings on my soundclick page were from a comp mic...The aenema one was from my line in...
I have spent the day searching for zoom patches for tool songs...with no avail :( |
I wasnt insulting you I was just saying he was doing pointless annoying spam. Calm down.
i think i would first have to get excited in order to 'calm' down, but thanks for the suggestion |
so did anyone do the guitar part for part of me yet, besides destructo
What part are you doing? For those of you interested-I tried recording it again. It sounded good, but I used a crappy tone, and yeah, what clearvision said about the pick scrabes..:( I think I might just buy a line in and a 1/4 inch adapter. About clearvision's YSI'd version of Ænema-Ouch. :( |
Thank you for bumping the thread back to first page... I was trying to think of something to say but couldn't... I can't stand to see this on page 2.

sorry not gonna list em all
Ken said he could do 46 & 2, however, as of now we're still on Stinkfist. After that is going to be Part of Me. Perhaps we could fit 46 & 2 in there after Part of Me, if you guys would like? I don't really want to get so far ahead of our selves, though, so after 46 & 2, no more songs until Stinkfist is through. |
what exactly is goin on here...are u guys like recording urselves playing songs and making a tool tribute album sorta thing out of it???
cuz if its good ill buy it |
It won't be for sale. JoZ and Ken will record the Bass/Drum segments, and then post it up for the guitarists to have a crack at playing with. After that, the results will (probably) be posted up here for everyone else who's interested to hear. If it works out, it should turn out to be pretty cool though.
