Check the YSI thread. |
You're a prince.

I'm listening to Moondance by Van Morrison at the moment. Even though most of the songs on this album are very similar, Van's very soulful delivery makes it a worthwhile and engaging listen anyhow.

Van Morrison made good music to read to. |
Never tried it. I never listen to music while I read, though. I can't play music without paying very close attention to it (for the most part, there are exceptions), and I can't get any literary meaning without concentrating on the words on a page. Therefore, the two do not mix well.

I can't read and listen to music at the same time either, but I generally suck at any shape or form of multitasking.

Hmm, well if you're using head phones just lower the volume to a point where you can some what hear what's going on around you. If you just focus on reading you'll fly right through it and pick up everything. Music actually helps me remember that I've been studying because I'll associate certain songs with chunks of information. If you're not using head phones don't have it blasting, just let it serve as a backround noise. |
Still hooked on Plays Pretty for Baby. It's my favorite record now.
I have this on vinyl. Cost me $9. While I don't find it as spectacular as you, it is actually a very good album. Shame they broke up when they did. |
Right now I'm diggin' This is Hardcore by Pulp. I've never listened to them before, I wrote them off as bad brit-pop but not now. This is awesome.

Is the Hot Snakes Peel Sessions worth $15?
Digging: Broken Social Scene Talking Heads |
Music stuff
I'm liking Fischerspooner and Nine Black Alps. I'm going to see Morning Runner tonight. I got Tom Vek's album, very good.

I've been listening to Southern Rock Opera by Drive By Truckers all day. That is one motherfucker of an album, I'm loving it. I think I'm gonna be on a southern rock kick for the next couple of days.

Elbow Smashing Pumpkins m83 |
Mike Watt, since I just got two his of cds in the mail yesterday.
|
K-Os and Air.
|
I got this really weird compilation album entitled Arrhythmia - A Collection of Percussion and Rhythm that features tracks by a bunch of different artists. It's neat stuff.
|
Animal Collective - Feels
Really good. Really. |
Streetlight Manifesto. I'm trying to learn some of their songs on bass. Such a good ska band.
Mindless Self Indulgence. Don't ask. I'm liking this music. It's really addictive. This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb. Ah yes, good old folk-punk. I've tried getting into punk and I can't really do it, and I've grown up around folk, but I wouldn't say I really listen to it. Yet somehow I love TBIAPB, Defiance Ohio, and Against Me!. The quality on this album is poor, though, but I love the songs very much. "this is what I want" "the arguement" and "drunk punk" are great songs. What an odd mix of music. |
Greg Ginn - Let it Burn (Because I Don't Live There Anymore)
Chavo Era Black Flag |
Today at work we dug:
Shpongle Funkadelic Frank Zappa The Dandy Warhols The Bad Plus |
I love the cover of Iron Man.
Is the Hot Snakes Peel Sessions worth $15?
Digging: Broken Social Scene Talking Heads
Yes. Yes it is. I havn't been able to find it on CD anywhere (in store, I mean). I've got the 7" and it is seriously good. It's ok to burn if I've got it in some form, right? Diggage: Iggy Pop - The Idiot Pulp - This is Hardcore (really good through 'phones) The Make-up - Save Yourself |
Greg Ginn - Let it Burn (Because I Don't Live There Anymore)
Chavo Era Black Flag
Do you digs Ginn's solo career? I don't think its all that great. I have Getting Even and its a pain to listen to. That doesnt take away from the fact that hes a great guitarist though. |
