because Underøath and underOATH are two different bands. there are completely different line-ups playing completely different styles of music. there's only one member of underOATH in Underøath, and he played rhythm guitar on their last album only...

Timmy played on Cries Of The Past, and they only used the underOATH typeset for Changing Of Times and They're Only Chasing Safety.

Timmy wrote a lot of Cries Of The Past and Changing Of Times alongside Octavio, and wrote the majority of their music after Octavio left the band, so Timmy kind of is Underoath at this point.

ive realized why i dont like emo revival. none of it seems to have any emotion, it's just agression/chaos with weird time signatures and just all over too harsh. emo needs some melody, tears, and sadness in order to deliver and every emo revival band i hear is just iminating a sound and not actually connecting with the music

listen to any emo revival band then listen to something like agna moraine... and tell me what sounds like emo to you

the original stuff will always be better than the imitators

there are a million good new emo bands. being first counts for fuck all.

but the popular bands are usually the ones who just copy Christie Front Drive or Mineral with varying degrees of luck... and bad "screamo"...

I listened to For Want Of and they were kind of cool. it's like a mix between Envision and Yaphet Kotto. obviously not on par with either, but that's OK. YK's first LP is near flawless, and Envision's demo is so fucking crush.

i like yaphet kotto but they arent even close to best in the genre i mean come on
