It might be kind of hard because you have been out of the game for so long.
What made you give this up?
I guess you had your reasons to hate people in the first place, I don't see anyone giving that up just like that.
I went to a private high school and all of a sudden, I wasn't a punching bag anymore. I realized I didn't have to be paranoid and isolated. As I slowly learned to open up to my classmates, I started to understand just how much I would miss out on by not going out into the world, talking to people, and taking some risks.

It's taking a while though. I still get bouts of paranoia and everything. And I have to constantly second-guess all my negative judgments.

I wouldn't be sorry to hear it, a lot of people I know are like it. I used to be like it in like year 8, yet as you can tell I haven't fully graduated into the "fully-social" style, I'm still coming out of my shell.

If I go to college I think it'll be better, I just hate my environment at school, it's so opressed.

It's okay. Going to college has really helped. As long as I'm still making progress, I won't complain.

As they said on Mystery Science Theater once, "Does just walking through it make you want to kill yourself? Then it's a high school!"

High school and minimum wage jobs are the modern-day rites to adulthood.

Yeah I know.

I only have like 11 Weeks left, I'll be sorry to see some teachers and old friends, but I won't be sorry to see the back of some of the pupils. I really can't see the enjoyment of kicking walls, throwing things off rooves, and breaking windows. Maybe it's just me though.

haha, I was always quite in high school, but some how I always made alot of friends.

Girls always comment on how quite I am.

Hmm, I'm still like that, basically. I just have a few people that I give a better treatment. Actually, I've taught them to be like me, really elitist, so they can back up my negative judgments. :D

I'm the opposite, when I first started high school I was really loud, I tried to use my humour as a way of gaining friends, I sorta slowed down towards the end though.

I would be the class clown in class that I was comfortable in and I had a lot of friends in.
haha, I was always quite in high school, but some how I always made alot of friends.

I used to be like that. I'm more outspoken now.

My Horror Fiction class was interesting. I was perhaps the most into the subject of the entire class, and I always had something interesting to add to the discussion.

You only need to justify it to yourself. :thumb:

GenuineImitation 01-16-2006 03:49 PM

I am not to impressed with High School. Most of the kids are really immature, even in the college level classes. Public High School is better than Catholic Elementary school. I don't have to fear for my life if I miss a homework assignment.

I used to be like that also. I started expressing my feelings more in 9th and 10th grade. I didn't really improve in 11th, but I did this year. I am hoping the college experience will help me become more outspoken. Im sure it will because its a new enviorment for everyone.

Maturity levels don't really rise in college, heh.

Yeah I know, with me though it was all or nothing, I dived into the situation head first without thinking what an arse I could look.:p

Also, is it just me, or (for people who are loud / weird) does it really annoy you when people tell you to be quiet when you're near a girl?
They're no different, so I don't think I should act different in front of them (discounting raucous behaviour of course.)

Steerpike 01-16-2006 03:51 PM
Maturity levels don't really rise in college, heh.
True, but if you're lucky, you catch the immature ones while they're hungover and easy to avoid.

Thats good to hear. I should be getting accepted in a few weeks.

Shattered_Future 01-16-2006 03:55 PM

Quite a few of my friends are in AP classes...

I'm glad I didn't take any yet. All of them are doing horribly in it.

Amit 01-16-2006 03:57 PM

Haha, I took so many AP classes in high school, didn't study, and still ended up with a 92 unweighted GPA and got into the college of my dream.

Yeah, that owned hard.

Yeah, I know, but it always feels good when someone agrees with you, right? I've gotten a lot "better", though. Having a girlfriend has taken me places, concerts, festivals, parties, dances, etc. I actually know what those things are, now. Before I didn't really get out much.

gmoneyguy 01-16-2006 03:57 PM

My little brother (kingofdudes) was accepted in Southern Alabama a few day ago. Supposedly the theory teacher uses rush to teach his courses at Southern Alabama

I think I'm majoring in Neuroscience and/or Psychology. I'm Pre-Med if that's what you're asking.

Heh, I have friends who go to all of those schools :-D

Fact: Jom is correct :D

Here are most of the friends I know who go to other universities: http://tinypic.com/kd3409.jpg

Hm, if I were you, GenuineImitation, this is how I would rank the schools if I got into them:

Georgetown
NYU
GWU
BU
Villanova
etc

GWU is a big waste of money and there are only really spoiled kids there, to be quite honest :-\
