yeah im definitely going to buy Wolf's Return and Iron Will as soon as i can.

Nostalgia 07-16-2008 12:06 AM

Pat,
013 has decided not to let Warning play due to protests of Aaron of MDB. seems that you have sent him deaththreats in the past and attacked him as well...sorry man!

Manuel

In light of WARNING being dropped from the Dutch "Ashes to Ashes" festival, we have this to say. My Dying Bride are a bunch of cowardly underhand spoilt brats, it only proves that they are truely scared that their time in the spotlight is now over, and will do anything to prolong the agony they inflict on the hundreds of listeners worldwide with their pathetic and feeble excuses for "music".

The truth is, that it was Pat's cousin, Rich Walker who attacked Aaron "Pubehead" Stainthorpe, and threatened oily guitarist Hamish Doublecross. They are clearly shaken by WARNING's popularity, and cannot bear the thought of having the piss blown out of them live by a so called "lesser" band.

We raise our hats to the buffoons in MDB, and thank them, and the so called promoters of the "Asses to asses" festival for showing their true colours yet again. Well done, you are simply not worth pissing on if you were on fire. ****ing cocksuckers the lot of you.....

Hahahahah. I like Miskatonic's response. Truly gay as ****, though.

Jondur 07-16-2008 02:15 AM

Yeah that's gay as you like. Anyone who's ever met Warning will know that its bollocks. Yeah Pat Walker is the size of a small block of flats but he's not the sort to go round twatting people for no reason. MDB and Solstice have been feuding since Towards the Sinister so I reckon they're just using this to get at Rich.

In unrelated news - check out Nomad Son. Hear a couple of tracks here: http://www.metal-on-metal.com/home.html

Nostalgia 07-16-2008 02:20 AM

I didn't think it was Pat Walker who said anything either... he doesn't seem to have a tad of aggression to him. It didn't surprise me when it said Rich was the one - considering some stuff I read, he doesn't seem like he has a problem with conflict.

That is still lame that MDB would throw a fit over something so petty though.

Jondur 07-16-2008 02:55 AM
It didn't surprise me when it said Rich was the one - considering some stuff I read, he doesn't seem like he has a problem with conflict.
Ha - Trust me Rich doesn't have a problem with conflict - he fcuking loves it!

But yes - in conclusion MDB are gay and playing at being rockstars

Txus 07-16-2008 07:44 AM

MDB are crap tbqh.

seig heil Warning!

foreverendeared 07-16-2008 07:48 AM

listening to Reverend Bizarre at the moment :]

Shattered_Future 07-16-2008 12:00 PM

I like a little MDB now and again, but An Ode To Woe (their new live album/DVD) is absolutely ****in' terrible. Jesus Christ...

pate 07-16-2008 01:47 PM

orly

Sinamorata is alright.

repcak 07-16-2008 01:57 PM

A half year ago I got the Secret Satan CD by Peter and I still discover new bands, cause I haven't really listened to everything...somehow I missed "Longing For Dawn".
What a fantastic band...wow :D

rasputin 07-18-2008 12:13 AM

Longing for Dawn are great, both their albums are solid.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 05:52 PM

im listening to Iron Will and it rules even harder than Wolf's Return. damn im loving Grand Magus right now.

i found this blog http://stonerobixxx.blogspot.com/ and it has some really good stuff on it, similar to that mercenario blog. so far ive gotten Spiritual Beggars, Orange Goblin, Witchcraft, Unearthly Trance, and Wooly Mammoth

Russell 07-19-2008 05:54 PM

mercenario is back up too.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 05:54 PM

yeah i know, that makes me happy

Shattered_Future 07-19-2008 05:59 PM

I didn't like Iron Will that much. Like The Oar Strikes The Water is massive, epic, balls to the wall, and probably one of the best tunes they've written. The rest left me wanting more.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 06:16 PM

i think Iron Will and Wolf's Return both as a whole was a crushing and relentless album from start to finish

Russell 07-19-2008 06:17 PM

I really liked Iron Will too.

pate 07-19-2008 06:39 PM

Iron Will is amazing. It came in the mail yesterday. Too bad the booklet sucks.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 06:43 PM

im waiting for mine to come in the mail. i already got Wolf's Return first in the mail somehow

pate 07-19-2008 06:56 PM

Same thing with me. I ordered Iron Will and 2 other albums at the same time. They shipped separately, with Iron Will supposedly being backordered, but then both orders shipped the same day. I got Iron Will yesterday, and the other two aren't here yet. wtf

jrowa001 07-19-2008 06:58 PM

haha yeah that sucks. im really digging this style of music. im hoping to get more bands like this. i like it because its heavy and rather fun also

pate 07-19-2008 07:01 PM

Indeed.

Is your RYM right in terms of CDs owned? I'd love to have that many.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 07:03 PM

well if i count all the cds that were stolen from me than yes. i have a friend who's dad owns a record shop in Riverside and i get a whole bunch of good deals there. lots of metal and such. a lot of my prog rock albums were given to me from a neighbor who was giving away all his music (he went bankrupt). so ive had some help getting a lot of cds. also friends, family, and a girlfriend help me out every birthday and christmas. i order a lot to, i set aside $50 from my tutoring every month to buy a few albums that i have been wanting.

i should update it though because i have gotten rid of a few cds (the ones with low ratings)

pate 07-19-2008 07:06 PM

Sweet. You've got a hell of a collection.

jrowa001 07-19-2008 07:08 PM

thanks! about 250 of those were stolen from me though. so im trying to get those back

VomitStainedCretin 07-20-2008 02:18 PM

Hi, I recently acquired at a sale a Pentagram album, Be Forewarned, and I didn't really know anything about the band but it was £2.70 (£3 minus student discount) and what I've listened to seems a reasonably decent slab of trad doom. Opinions on Pentagram?

SHOOTME 07-20-2008 02:24 PM

I like Stoner Rock...

like Queens of The Stone Age?

pate 07-20-2008 02:27 PM

Pentagram is great.

Dies Irae 07-20-2008 02:36 PM

that album is good

ATM 07-20-2008 07:27 PM

Best Pentagram album is the s/t.

I just found out my co-worker played guitar in Black Manta:

Pretty sweet.
Pentagram is great.
I gotta get me some o' them. Which is the best album to start with? They were a 70's band, no? I don't know anything about those guys, other than they had something to do with the formation of Doom. The band Witchcraft, who I love now, by the way, began life as a Penta cover band. I read that the core of Witchcraft's sound is still steeped in the covers they once performed nightly....Based on the recommendations in this thread, I started checking out samples for Grand Magus' new one. I like them, but I'm really suprised at the guitar tone that they go with. It's not what you typically associate with Doom. How long have they been at it?

Dies Irae 07-20-2008 08:34 PM

does every post you make have to be a paragraph of bullshit

Tyler 07-20-2008 08:36 PM

is he outing himself again?

Txus 07-20-2008 08:38 PM
I don't know anything about those guys
You don't know anything about most things, tbqh.

Bhima 07-20-2008 08:39 PM

lulz

easily the most pointless post of all time. even this post that im making now, which accomplishes nothing except pointing out the pointlessness of the quoted one, is better.

Bhima 07-20-2008 09:46 PM

seriously how do you not hear of pentagram and consider yourself a doom fan?

ShinsenNaClitoris 07-20-2008 10:14 PM

Yeah, that's ****ing gay.

The new Moss is great btw

moltenlava 07-20-2008 11:32 PM

I don't understand why a couple of you guys have to be such mighty large pengas. How do you guys ask each other questions and state stuff and schitt. How do you accomplish such tasks when everything is either gay or bullpoop? I'm askin' a simple fluckin question here. I'm diggin what I'm hearing with Grand Magus, but the guitar tone is not something you'd hear comin' out of a Doom band. It's actually kinda mainstream sounding. Did they always sound like this?

Bhima 07-20-2008 11:33 PM

um what?
