Yeah I have. The whole underlying religious themes/stories is very interesting. The dude disemboweling himself is one of the only parts I can really remember though hehe.

I've seen quite a few clips of Begotten but I'll at some point make an effort to watch it all. My mate told me about it when I mentioned Eraserhead to him, saying that they had played it on some screens at this Czech grind festival he went to. Admittedly, clips of Begotten were also used for an early Marilyn Manson video. Also, E. Elias Merhige (the director) is a Jew, so Dargon would definitely not approve.

It's pretentious bands like WITTR and so on that make the genre so open to parody. Bands like Venom were just getting drunk and having fun.
