I played a church gig last night.
Two songs with sticks [heavy funk and an 80s ballad with a quick pace] and two with brushes [one hymn with traditional brushwork and cymbal swells and another which started in 6/8 with swing and moved into 5 for the bridge [I went to 5 while my brother stayed in 6] and then 4/4 with a disco-shuffle feel for the last chorus and outro]. Was great to dig into some different styles and just play live again.

Had a band practise today; we're pretty tight now (only took 10 months LoL) and we're going to start looking for gigs more actively.
