black_star 04-28-2005 09:36 AM

Thunder Fingers 04-28-2005 09:37 AM
have u got their DVD from Hamburg or whereever it is?
no, the live record.

Spaceman Spiff 04-28-2005 09:37 AM

I've never played a G&L, but some people here seem to really like them.

ElKapitan 04-28-2005 09:37 AM

i've only heard about G&L guitars, if i'm thinking of the right brand, but they're meant to be very good

ElKapitan 04-28-2005 09:39 AM
no, the live record.
when i bought the DVD they accidentally gave me two discs :smoke:
it's quite good

MasterofBass 04-28-2005 09:39 AM

I've never played one either, but want to someday.

ElKapitan 04-28-2005 09:40 AM

unless i'm very much mistaken Jerry Cantrell used a G&L for the Alice In Chains stuff

Thunder Fingers 04-28-2005 09:40 AM
when i bought the DVD they accidentally gave me two discs :smoke:

maby i should get that next time...

i like the live cd abit more than the recorded versions, cause the bass is turned alittle louder up and its easier to hear exactly what he play.

black_star 04-28-2005 09:42 AM

i played a weird G&L today, the tone was pretty bad, i don't really know if it was the bass amp's fault because it was really really old.

Anyway, it had the general Ibanez headstock and a warwick like body, with soapbar pickups.

ElKapitan 04-28-2005 09:42 AM

same with the DVD, the bass is nice and powerful

black_star 04-28-2005 09:43 AM

But now that i search on the G & L website, i don't see that bass anywhere. what's with that?

Thunder Fingers 04-28-2005 09:44 AM

G&L are usually Precision Body, fender like headstock with an exta thingy and 2 Musicman Look alike Pups...(or the G&L l2000 anyway.. )

I dont think they have anyone that look like a ibanez....

black_star 04-28-2005 09:48 AM

nah, i meant the headstock was that of an Ibanez ( http://home.comcast.net/~perineum1/bass_gear/GWB1_headstock.jpg)

And the body was similar to a warwick.

two soapbar pickups.

MasterofBass 04-28-2005 09:48 AM

hey, anybody here ever hear of a band called Sikth?

I got some of their songs from my friend. They're very intersting metal, with some cool bass lines (including some nice slap lines).

Thunder Fingers 04-28-2005 09:59 AM

Thunder Fingers 04-28-2005 10:06 AM

jaco jr 04-28-2005 10:08 AM
it will still never have the soul of a precision, jazz bass, stingray or a rick....
