Does anyone have info about starting out doing sound stuff (live-PA and such; and recording-home studio for other bands)

Becuase I wanna start up doing something like this seeing as there are loads of bands in my area and I think I would, if I promopted well enough, be able to get somewhere with this.

I need to know what equipment is the most neccessary really, and the cheaper I can get it the better, of course!

There are, I went to the new Poole Percussion shop last week, they've got some really nice stuff down there but no cheap'ish metronomes for some reason.
