Dude no way it totally depends on the scenario. Digital>analog for most modern applications.

pate 10-02-2007 06:50 PM

I'm more important. I build the bridges that let you drive to the electrical engineer plant.

TojesDolan 10-02-2007 06:51 PM

Yeah I know but I would never give my butt to a nuch of 0's and 1's man

I trust in analog voltages more

No you design them.

And without electricity you couldn't design them :p

Tojes: I trust to digitalness all the time. I like computers.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 06:52 PM

Yeah bro, you can't have digital without first having analog bro.
No you design them.

Sure he could. Ever heard of pencil, paper, and straightedge?

Ever heard of time eficiency, cost-over-delayed-design and insane cost because of man-induced errors in design?

Permanent Solution 10-02-2007 06:59 PM
The Middle Ages called, they said, "STFU you filthy Mexican."
I mean like modern CEs. Everything is done on computers nowadays.

@Kyle too.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 06:59 PM

Therefore bridges cannot be designed without electronics. That is why people couldn't cross the Mississippi until like 1962.

Kage 10-02-2007 06:59 PM

Yeah but all these tools with their fancy computers wouldn't know what to do if the shit hit the fan. You gotta learn the stone age techniques first.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:00 PM

Yeah bro.

But they don't anymore, that's the point :)

Yes, I know. But computers make everything more efficient, cheaper and least difficult for us.

now STFU you mr. movie major you couldn't make films if it weren't for us.

WE ARE THE FUTURES

Permanent Solution 10-02-2007 07:04 PM

Tojes and I are the future.

This is a terrifying thought. :(

Deth 10-02-2007 07:06 PM

Wow, like 80% of the posts on this page are from engineering majors.

Kinda sad really.

Angmar 10-02-2007 07:07 PM

I have wanted to study civil engineering since like middle school.

Well we are cultured folks.

You used to write interesting pieces.

I suck at life and pretend I'm good at painting, drawing, reading and making music, but then again I'm biased towards my own creations.

It's all good.

wait why

Deth 10-02-2007 07:09 PM

idk engineers are losers tbh
I have wanted to study civil engineering since like middle school.
You're joining an elite group with pate and myself.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:09 PM

idk maybe becuz the engineers got pwned by an english major and a movie major lolz?

I still could write I just don't have the time. I have a short novel I want to work on once I finish school and have the time.

Engineers are awesome. And alcoholics. AKA awesome.

CEs are lolz.

Mappy: Wot? Reading comprehension--

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:11 PM

Alcoholics ftw!!1

Kage 10-02-2007 07:11 PM

I've got a novel in the works.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:14 PM

What about? and what style/genre?

Kage 10-02-2007 07:19 PM
What about? and what style/genre?
It ties in to a lot of other stuff I've written and there's a lot of backstory to it, but essentially it's my version of the near-end of the world, with a good deal of phantasmagoric goings-on and a mafia-like battle between higher figures. Sounds generic, I know, but there's a lot to it and I think some unique concepts regarding purity vs. corruption and things like that.

As for genre, I don't really know.

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 07:20 PM

Kage.P Lovecraft.

Kage 10-02-2007 07:24 PM

The coolest part about it is the details, which I haven't revealed and probably won't until it's written.

Tyler 10-02-2007 07:25 PM

I want to write another short story, those were always fun. No time right now though.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:25 PM

Yeah short stories are fun.

Kage 10-02-2007 07:25 PM

I've got a cool short story going about an amnesiac doctor who is making house calls in the middle of the night.

TojesDolan 10-02-2007 07:26 PM

I have a short novel about my life.

pate 10-02-2007 07:26 PM
I have wanted to study civil engineering since like middle school.
I've wanted to since 6th grade. lol

Kage: I'd read your book.

i am the robots 10-02-2007 07:27 PM
Kage: I'd read your book.
only the power metal and folk/viking shi fans would read mien :(

Kage 10-02-2007 07:28 PM

Thanks. One day you guys will hopefully.

Deth 10-02-2007 07:29 PM
I have a short novel about my life.
No one wants to read it.

Nostalgia 10-02-2007 07:30 PM

Yeah, Tojes' would suck.

could someone be helpful enough to explain to me how to take midi drums on Guitar Pro and put them onto Audacity. I tried the whole import midi, but it says there was an "error parsing midi file".
