moltenlava 07-11-2008 03:29 PM

What's this Nadja mentioned a few pages back? And, what did Guitrguy do get himself banned?

Russell 07-11-2008 03:41 PM

moltenlava 07-11-2008 03:51 PM

I guess. GuitrGuy just mentioned a 'new' Nadja title that came out. Didn't say anything else. Are these guys Doom, and is it any good?

Russell 07-11-2008 03:51 PM

They are drone doom. I love them, and I am guitrguy btw.

moltenlava 07-11-2008 09:59 PM

Drone Doom? Is that anything like Funeral Doom, because I nearly committed suicide listening to something called Ahab - Call of the Wretched Sea. Holy snap, son! That schitt droned on and on and on. Directionless, plodding misery. I ain't needin' none a dat. That's for dang sure.

ATM 07-11-2008 10:01 PM

moltenlava 07-11-2008 10:31 PM

So this Narnia is Drone Doom?

Txus 07-11-2008 10:33 PM

lol

moltenlava 07-12-2008 12:32 AM

OK. So I heard some of the Nadja, and if by Drone you mean HISSING and FUZZ for seven to fifteen minutes at a clip, then yeah, no, I'm not so interested. lol. I want DOOM! dammit. I loved the most recent Candlemass and Aeturnus as Traditional Doom recordings. And, I wasn't about to argue at all with what Trouble did with mainstreaming their old sound. The songs are all memorable on 'Simple Mind Condition'. Just great, melodic songwriting. I'll have to look into some 'Witchcult Today'. Someone named a few obscure names a few pages back. I wanna know if there are any bands which are being unfairly overlooked. What's a Doom band that should be as popular as the three groups I mentioned? And, who said that Kyuss sucks a couple pages back? I had to dig out some tracks from Blues for the Red Sun and Welcom to Sky today. These albums are great.

Dies Irae 07-12-2008 12:33 AM

try harder

Tyler 07-12-2008 01:21 AM

melodic drone

Nadja is pretty doomy. I feel apocalyptic rumblings in my stomach when I listen to it, and my stomach is pretty sensitive

moltenlava 07-12-2008 10:46 AM

I fail because I don't like fuzz, hiss and reverb? A hour long of fuzz, hiss and reverb?

lawl @ you calling Ahab fuzz, hiss and reverb.

moltenlava 07-12-2008 12:35 PM

Are you calling me a fat hippy? lol. A fat hippy that has a plastic knife wrapped around his noggin.

Actually, I was calling Narnia fuzz, hiss and reverb. I don't have a name yet for Ahab. But the nomenclature will certainly revolve around the desire of the listener to put blade to wrist. I'll listen to it one more time, but I have a feeling that I won't survive the ordeal to post my comments.

Gimme some Doom!

Txus 07-12-2008 12:58 PM

gtfo faggot

Kage 07-12-2008 02:05 PM

1. I don't see what makes him decent

2. No one seems to miss you :\

pate 07-12-2008 04:17 PM

He's a troll.

I miss Kage.

Russell 07-12-2008 04:24 PM

I miss Kage too!

I also don't see how being dumb makes you a troll

moltenlava 07-12-2008 04:43 PM

Wow. I guess I'll leave you drones to your slit-wrist misery. Have fun.

Russell 07-12-2008 04:44 PM

I rescind my not a troll statement.

RunAmokRampant 07-13-2008 01:40 AM

so yeh, new Cult of Luna absolutely kills.

Jondur 07-14-2008 02:19 AM

I like the new guy. Anyway went to Doom Metal Inquisition V on Saturday - My neck still hurts. Warning, Forsaken and Pagan Altar were my highlights.

Angmar 07-14-2008 02:22 AM

Ahh seeing Warning and Pagan Altar would be amazing.

Jondur 07-14-2008 04:04 AM

Well Warning had some sound problems but Warning with a dodgy guitar lead are still better than 99% of other bands. Pagan Altar had no such problems and played a blinder.

If you don't know Forsaken then you should check them out - you're only 18 years too late to the party!

pate 07-14-2008 08:53 AM

I think I know Forsaken.

Jondur, you like Iron Hearse? I just got into them.

Jondur 07-14-2008 09:15 AM

Yeah total Obsessed worship. Played a gig with them a few years back. they were pretty good live as well - great guitar tone seeing as their gear looked like knackered crap. You can download most of their stuff from the Bland Hand website.

pate 07-14-2008 09:21 AM

Yeah, that's the stuff I have.

Nostalgia 07-14-2008 10:21 AM

Forsaken is pretty good, actually. I don't remember having an album, but some songs I checked out were really great.

jrowa001 07-14-2008 10:29 AM

ive been digging Grand Magus finally. ive had their album Wolf's Return for a while but i jsut got around to listening to it. holy shit Kingslayer is a badass song

pate 07-14-2008 12:04 PM

Great album, but the new one, Iron Will, is better.

I ordered Iron Will after one listen on a download.
