Mr Herb 06-16-2005 09:50 PM

Who do you think Tool will tour with on their next tour?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 09:56 PM
you remind me of a 13 year old girl, whose parents are breaking up so you decide to be an internet toughgirl....i know i must be close.
Either that or a real bad gimmick.

About Tool touring, I think they're doing a mini tour with Isis, and they'll probably tour with Meshuggah again, since they may have coinciding tour dates...Oh, and if Pink Floyd do a full blown reuinion tour, it would literally make my lifetime to see them on stage together. :D

It won't happen, but if it did.../orgasms

Futuro 06-16-2005 09:59 PM

in a rumor magazine there was speculation of a mudvayne tool tour(because the bands were both produced by botrill) but since mudvayne wasn't produced by botrill this last album it wont happen.

Huber 06-16-2005 10:00 PM

I'd love it if they went with Meshuggah again. I love Meshuggah.

BlindWriting 06-16-2005 10:00 PM

Dr. Jake mentioned Isis, which we know for sure is going to happen. I would kill to see that live, hopefully this mini-tour isn't any harder to get to than a normal Tool show would be.

Futuro 06-16-2005 10:06 PM

whos Isis???

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 10:08 PM

I wouldn't be so certain about the Isis thing, BW. It very well could be what Blair intended with the whole code equation thing, but Blair is a wierd dude, so you never know. Don't get your hopes of quite that much. I bet it will happen though.

Could someone upload some Isis for me? I've been dying to hear them, and every effort I've made has failed as of yet. Darn.

I think a Mudvayne and Tool concert wouldn't be nearly as cool as seeing Tour with a band closer to Tool's talent level. :p Ryan Martinie is a talented guy, but the rest of the band...eh

Mr Herb 06-16-2005 10:10 PM

Whats type of music does Isis play?

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 10:13 PM

Bart told me that they are sort of a hard to define band. A cross of black, death, prog, and other metal genres. :p

AKA metal.

BlindWriting 06-16-2005 10:16 PM

With a lot of softer stuff, kind of like the lighter, more atmospheric and sometimes eerie side of Porcupine Tree, but without the psychedelia.

Futuro 06-16-2005 10:16 PM

33.7 percent uploaded :thumb: just a random fact

RunAmokRampant 06-16-2005 10:17 PM

i saw isis in feb. blew my mind away.awesome show. Panopticon I think got nominated for best indie release 2004. Hey they're well commended by mike patton, they must be good.

Mr Herb 06-16-2005 10:27 PM

indie? i dont wanna tool getting all indie! lol ill check them out

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 10:36 PM

Just because Tool is touring with a band doesn't meaning they're going to turn into an Indie band. They never tour with bands that sound similair to Tool, mainly because the sound is so hard to duplicate. :p Don't worry about them turning into a different band.

Faith- On Dialup? What a nice dude.

Mr Herb 06-16-2005 10:38 PM

I know they wont, but you know they toured with messugah and bam so i wos a lil worried about that. How many albums you think tool has in em? i say perhaps this one and 2 more. .

jamesclelland 06-16-2005 10:44 PM

they are not taking messugahs sound, danny carey is just adding polyrythyms to his stuff. they may be heavier, but listen to ticks and leeches, triad, grudge. those are all heavier than a lot of the other songs.

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 10:50 PM

Where'd you find the polyrythm info at?

Those are 3 of my favorite Tool songs. :p I will not be dissapointed if they are making heavier music.

wtf am I saying. I won't be dissapointed. I just want something more than what I have now. :anxious:

Mr Herb 06-16-2005 10:50 PM

triad is the ****. well danny is the man, his drumming on this next album is gonna be wow. i wonder how mayanrd will sing and the song titles.

something important peeps. your the first pack of tool fans ive ever encountered. Here on puerto rico tool is pretty un heard off. :)

Dr. Jake Destructo 06-16-2005 10:54 PM

Same here. I do live in the US, but the only Tool fan that I know is my best friend, and only because I introduced him to them. I don't know any diehard Tool fans like any of you guys though. That's what I have mx for, though. :)

Huber 06-16-2005 10:54 PM

I listened to some samples of Isis. They sound pretty cool.

Mr Herb 06-16-2005 11:12 PM

cheers to mx! could anyone recommend songs from Isis?

Lateralias 06-16-2005 11:32 PM

I could but I only have some songs from Panopticon.. kind of a Isis noob here

Agreed. The guys in Mudvayne had a few good ideas on their first couple of releases, but they're horrible live performers and what I've heard from the new album is god awful.

So....the new Tool album was originally scheduled for release this year. Is that still going to happen?

Huber 06-17-2005 12:17 AM

Do you use Soulseek? Cuz I mentioned Isis and immediately this guy goes "Neurosis is better" like it was a reflex. What do these bands have in common?

Magicaltroll 06-17-2005 12:21 AM

Yeah I do. My user name thing is magicaltroll.
And they have ALOT of similarities. but I think Neurosis is more emotional. And I like their heavier stuff more. But thats just me.

Both are amazing bands.

Dude3 06-17-2005 02:01 AM

Personally, I would Jizz all over the place if Tool and Mudvayne toured together. Speaking of Mudvayne, I think that Aidden guy would too.

Remember how he figured out(actually decoded) the whole Lateralus thing? Well, he is now doing something that connects Mudvayne's LD 50 with Stanely Kubprik's "2001: A Space oddysey". Its like running the pink floyd album during Oz, only he didn't actually think that was great. This, sounds awesome. It looks like Mudvayne may be smartter than we thought. They may have completely based their LD 50 album on the Space Oddysey movie.

jamesclelland 06-17-2005 10:30 AM

well to an earlier question, i saw them when they toured with messugah, and during triad, they had both drummers out doing polyrythyms. that is were that came from, it's not 100% for sure but it would be bad ***

Tool has polyrhythmic stuff in their music now. Its just more subtle than meshuggah's, which i find extermely boring and really lacking dynamics. I've heard some of the new album, and the whole time all the drummer is playing (well ive been told its Drumkit from hell) is doing is playing the down beat on a crash through the entire album. how boring.

By the way our 46and2 is done for real this time the previous mixes were critiqued a little and we tried to mix it better. you can stream it here , or you can download it here

You got your act together quicker than an entire thread. Nice going.
/begins streaming

/turns to team.

YOU SEE GUYS? WHATS WITH YOU GUYS? THERE IS NO 'I' IN TEAM! (there is in Meshuggahs catalogue though, but still), I WANT 110% OFF YOU GUYS.

NOW LETS GET OUT THERE AND PLAY SOME SERIOUS TOOL!

Its usually bordeline with the j/k thing with you.

i was hoping to try out the drums on FL, since thats the part we may struggle with sorting, but im finding it hard to find accurate drum samples for Danny's kit (and there's a lot of it)
