'Lo bass forum. So I've found a new way to improve my finger-style speed. I figured I waste so much time on the computer anyways, while I'm doing something that only requires one hand I just strum my bass, it works out nicely, I'm seeing improvements already.

You just strum like one string for a long period of time?

I move around, I listen to music and basically play along to the beat without fretting any notes.

How many fingers do you use? Just curious.

2, I've messed around with a three-finger method, but it doesn't feel as natural, I use it sometimes for triplets or things that have a triplet-style to it, but usually just two.

I use 2 fingers too.
I've tried working with 3, but I feel more comfortable with 2, and I can't play as well with 3.
