what did THOR call LAEFS again

Tyler 11-09-2007 05:42 PM

Like an Overflowing Stream
I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I think Left Hand Path is extremely overrated. It just seems like they put 0 thought into most of it aside from the title track. I strongly prefer Dismember for oldschool Swedish death metal tbh.
Yeah I like Dismember's Like an Overflowing Stream as well but Left Hand Path still is great. Maybe they did put 0 thought in...who cares, it is still so raw, crushing and satisfying.

TojesDolan 11-09-2007 05:55 PM

That was very good.

Tyler 11-09-2007 05:55 PM

Everflowing!

I am sorry Tyler but you are wrong.

Thor clearly told me it was Overflowing.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-09-2007 07:01 PM
well obviously not if i've never seen anyone talk about them.
Anyway Carnage has Michael Amott and sounds a lot like Entombed but I think they are much better. Dark Recollections is easily one of the best overlooked Swedish death metal albums.
This thread goes through cycles of discussing certain styles. It's true that there hasn't been alot of Carnage or other lesser known old school discussion, but that doesn't mean the members who have been here longer haven't discussed them in the past. This thread has been around for years. When I posted in this thread regularly, there was a point where old-school DM was discussed more than any other style and bands like Carnage were mentioned often.

Yeah, awhile ago that was all that i would see being discussed in here for the most part. I like finding new bands and shit so i don't really mind "name dropping" that much. But it would be cool if actual discussion resulted from name dropping.

Does anybody else wish the guitars were turned up a tiny bit on Immolations albums?

Deth 11-09-2007 07:42 PM

/puts on Close to a World Below

I think you're right, the vocals are a little too loud.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 07:51 PM

Hmm. When i saw them last Tuesday, they seemed a little low in the mix as well. It sucks because their riffs are pretty sick when i can hear them.

Weird.

Nostalgia 11-09-2007 07:57 PM

Never a fan of Dismember.

C.O.A. 11-09-2007 08:04 PM

thats because you are a fag :p

but seriously, i <3 Dismember.

LAEFS is one of my favorite death albums ever.

i wasn't trying to make it look like "hey guys i'm the only one that's ever heard this album" i know you guys have been discussing in this thread a lot longer than me, i was just saying as of late bands like Carnage don't get mentioned too much.

LifeInABox 11-09-2007 10:51 PM

Ya, ya, ya. Online, now. I'm terribly bored.

masscows 11-09-2007 10:52 PM

who the hell are you talking to

AA-12 11-09-2007 10:52 PM

Yeah wtf

LifeInABox 11-09-2007 10:53 PM

Yeah, Masscows.

masscows 11-09-2007 10:57 PM
Yeah, Masscows.
I'm so confused

Tyler 11-10-2007 03:11 AM

Listened to the new BDM. It's okay. It's bland just like their last albums but in small doses it works. Vocals can be grating as hell though.

i am the robots 11-10-2007 03:26 AM

It's less boring than their other albums imo.

One thing I love about TBDM is that they have some of the best taste in music that I have seen in a newer band from that "scene". You see them wearing Celtic Frost shirts and Dismember shirts, when you see most bands in that style with Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence shirts.

Yeah I noticed that too, they definitely don't seem to be a part of the "scene" their fans are in.

Not that it really matters as far as the music is concerned though, they still aren't that great.

Eliminator 11-10-2007 09:45 AM

their shirts are fab

Eliminator 11-10-2007 12:05 PM

that proves how metal they are right there

LifeInABox 11-10-2007 12:36 PM

:lol::lol: Well they wear their influences on their sleeves, now don't they!

Bazarov 11-10-2007 01:46 PM

band shirts amplify your metal-ness.

i am the robots 11-10-2007 02:45 PM

I wear Underoath and Circle Takes The Square shirts, now I can't do death metal vocals anymore. :(

pate 11-10-2007 02:54 PM

I'm wearing an Immortal shirt right now, I guess I have to go find an axe brb guys

TojesDolan 11-10-2007 03:17 PM

I don't wear band shirts.

This is easily one of dumbest things anyone has said in this thread.

It makes you, and the douche who mentioned Trivium, show your true colours. The fact that you weigh any importance on a shirt is pretty sickening.

And just so you know, Matt Heafy may be in Trivium, but he was also in Capharnaum, so that means he can wear whatever shirt he wants.

LifeInABox 11-10-2007 04:19 PM

lol Twoface

Tyler 11-10-2007 04:22 PM

lol shallow?
