super deluxe 09-21-2004 11:08 AM
You guys go to the same school? Did you know each other before you both started posting here?
Nope! It was a really weird coincidence. Not only that, we're from the same city! :amaze:

Saitoku 09-21-2004 11:54 AM

Well, you should be happy. Not one other serious bassist went to my high school. :upset:

Jim Hull 09-21-2004 12:49 PM

Nor mine. Well I think one, but he is wiered so I don't talk to him.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 01:29 PM

Wow, today sucked.

I got in trouble for looking at MX. :p Okay, maybe I did deserve getting in trouble for that (something about how we're not supposed to go to unrelated websites? :p), but the "teacher" (who actually doesn't have a teaching degree, as far as I know) made it sound like I did nothing productive. Hell I was doing my work, I was just multi-tasking. :upset:

FUNKNBASS 09-21-2004 01:30 PM

Hey guys I'm back, sux that you had a bad day Fox.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 01:35 PM

Haha hey.

No prob. The teachers make it sound like it's the end of the world now that I've gotten in trouble ("Check!" says the computer "teacher"). Standarized testing is really ghey. I didn't do great (let's assume that the highest grade possible is a 9; the average student gets a 5); I did horrible so I'm semi worried about that for high school (9, 3 8s, a 7, I think). What's ghey about standardized testing is that they'd rather take someone who did awesome on these tests but had a C average and decent attendance, as opposed to someone who did good (above average) on tests, but had an A average and perfect attendance (basically, me. :p).

Sucks. The SATs suck too. Analogies are irritating, and I dislike essay-type questions. I got a 970 when they had us take it a few years ago and I still feel bad about that. :p

FUNKNBASS 09-21-2004 01:38 PM

^^^ I hated standardized testing too, but then again i was a **** student so those tests saved my ***.

I always multi-task in my computer class. I draw an awesome thing in paint for 30 minutes every day, then go on mx and check things out for another 15 minutes, then do my work for about the last 10.

FUNKNBASS 09-21-2004 02:00 PM

^^^ I would sleep, but I still wound up passing with a B.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 09-21-2004 02:22 PM

I'm doing a persuassive speech against stanardized testing for english. :thumb:

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:25 PM

YAY!

Fight the power. 4n4rchy~

;) Sucks though they're making us take ANOTHER standardized test so I have to do good.

*sigh*

Jaded 09-21-2004 02:27 PM

I got a 1300 on my SATs. I did bad on my state standardized testing because I didn't care b/c it doesn't affect me at all. I just guessed on all the ones that I didn't know right away.

FUNKNBASS 09-21-2004 02:30 PM

I am the test master, but I still think they suck monkey nuts.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:32 PM

Oh, I do fine on normal tests.

The Social Studies teacher used to not let me do extra credit. But Standardized tests...I have this REALLY bad luck where I always get sick. Last year I had a fever and a cold. Year before I had flu.

>_<

risbo 09-21-2004 02:32 PM

How many standardized tests are there where you guys live? I could use this for my speech.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:34 PM

Okay well they added one this year. They actually just threw out one. This year I'll be taking:

ISAT
IOWA
Explorer (placement)

We used to take the CASE (high school credit) but they threw it out, and the teachers are now required to do midterms.

Sucks that were limited to 5 credits for high school.

e p 09-21-2004 02:48 PM

Hello all.

How's it goin'?

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:49 PM

Playing bass.

Hey ep, did you ever have to take the ISATs/IOWAs?

super deluxe 09-21-2004 02:51 PM

I took IOWAs, though it was quite a while ago. Totally lame, but for some reason I am really good at filling in bubbles in random patterns, so I did well on my PSATS and SATS. Whatever, I guess.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:52 PM

Ah cool.

They used to call the ISAT the IGAP or something similar to that...whatever.

Back to learning bass stuff.

e p 09-21-2004 02:53 PM

Yeah Fox.

I've taken everything you've mentioned before.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 02:54 PM

Oh okay.

I figured so. :p

e p 09-21-2004 03:01 PM

And unlike you I've never been sick.

That's odd that you are sick twice for those tests. Just get lots of sleep before them I guess. They're pretty easy, too, but they're just long.

PaulSimonon 09-21-2004 03:57 PM

I had some tests today too... got me some sleep!

LowExpectations 09-21-2004 04:20 PM

lol The aptitude tests are hella easy...made 1100 on the SAT in 7th grade and then 209 on a recent PSAT practice test.

Foxfire 09-21-2004 04:22 PM

Easy, yes. I did bad on a math one that we had to do 40~ in 10 minutes, mainly because I forgot how to multiply and divide decimals. :p Stupid me.

PaulSimonon 09-21-2004 04:28 PM

Nice fox!

Left Shoe 09-21-2004 04:32 PM

lol i signed up for the psats today , and i get to take them next year , and then the real sat! the iowas were so much fun , they put me in the 98% percentile haha

ScorpSath 09-21-2004 04:36 PM

You will fail... fail you must.
