Nostalgia 10-29-2005 09:41 PM

Oh and shadows fallen, expect the poetry speaks CC writeup tommorow, I found a way to make the people who voted for symphony X happy to.

/Me has idea. Like all good threads, this is from Pop-Punk and I think it would work great in Rock & Metal.

I am just checking for approval, as it may be unnecessary here or whatnot.

It was tried before, but SFK closed it and basically said that the thread sucked. I forget who made the thread, exactly, but maybe I'll find it with a quick search.

EDIT: hey, hey, go search, go!

Weird....the search doesn't work for me. I thought it was a good thread and it was working fine..but a lot of them were just posting random bands, I want to do it so people introduce their music to others were many will see it.

While I agree, it seems unlikely that Ken is going to change his mind on the matter.
Ah. Well whatever you guys decide, I'm capable of just having my thread unstickied and bumping it every now and then, just to let you know.
Nostalgia 10-30-2005 12:03 AM

Try changing to a different avatar, It might just be that.

MBS 10-30-2005 12:30 AM

10 e-bucks says he's using a .png file type. Are those legal?

Anyway, if you have a photobucket account, upload your avatar onto there. Then, when it's on the photobucket account, click it so it's the single picture screen.

Right click > Copy link location (if you have Firefox, it should be something similar with IE)

then paste the URL into the "Enter Avatar URL" box, and hit "Save Changes"

It should work, if not, just upload the avatar onto photobucket and I'll convert it to a .jpeg for you.

Six Foot Revolver 10-30-2005 12:36 AM

I think .png files are allowed, me thinks he made his avatar on paint and saved it as bitmap.

Jake, let's get another mod's opinion on sticking that thread. I'm fine with it, but I'd feel better if I had another opinion.
I believe you :) Good to see ya' again

It would be a good thing to sticky (we have a lot now) because I don't think many people here really do know theory well.

Nostalgia 10-30-2005 11:28 AM

Well...I was going to do a poetry speaks atricle on symphony X but their was just a thread made like a hour ago do you think It would still be ok If I made it.

I have a live version of an Opeth song I want to post in the Opeth thread. It hasn't been released by the band. Am I allowed to post it?

Riva 10-30-2005 08:06 PM

E-mail it, or put it up on Soulseek. Unless you have permission from Opeth, they are still the intellectual property owners.

Deth 10-30-2005 08:07 PM

OK. I tried I guess.

Thanks anyway.

Just respond to him pointing him to the tab forum. I'm not inclined to ban him on his first post, and I can't close the thread, either.

I cant get my email function to work. All it says is that the Administrator has is disabled. Will it ever be enabled. Or can I do something about it?

It's disabled, and it likely won't be enabled. Your best bet is to look at userprofiles for contact information through an instant messaging medium.

Alternatively, you can just flat-out ask the user whom you wish to contact what his or her e-mail address is.

Hang on, I'll link you to a couple threads.

Introduce Yourself thread

Meet the MXicans, v.2.0

Both of these are found in The Pit. The first thread is self-explanatory, feel free to introduce yourself and give your contact info, while in the same vein you can read others' pots.

The Meet the MXicans thread is a second version of its predecessor, where it outlines users by continent/country/state/city. Links to profiles are found ITT, if needed.

Remember, you can click on a username to view one's profile. Just select, "View Public Profile" from the available options.

Cool thanks, Last question how do you link people to other threads

Jom 10-31-2005 10:19 AM
Cool thanks, Last question how do you link people to other threads
See above for links.

///

Well, the easiest way is to:

1. Click on the thread.
2. Copy the URL when the thread opens.
3. Paste the URL.

Alternatively, you can link with hypertext, like this.

To do this, either quote my post or remove the asterisks:

[*url=http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=23]Insert hypertext[*/url]
