jrowa001 12-30-2008 09:58 AM
Horror Show sucks.

Also add Pharaoh to this list.
Oh no, you di' n't.

pate 12-30-2008 10:35 AM

Worst IE album, bar TCOM.

Deth 12-30-2008 10:52 AM

I think Dark Saga is the worst followed by TCOM personally.

Horror Show's good songs are really good.

Morumbar 12-30-2008 10:58 AM

Ah, we've had this discussion about Horror Show before. I'm not gonna go into it again. XD Just gonna be a yes/no thing.

Anyone here like Helloween's Gambling With The Devil?

pate 12-30-2008 12:07 PM

Yes. It's good, even though Andi Deris is annoying as ****.

Morumbar 12-30-2008 12:38 PM

Srsly? I really like his vocals on that album.

pate 12-30-2008 12:59 PM

The melodies are awesome but he's waaaaay to nasaly.

luci 12-31-2008 08:26 PM

Dragonforce are best power metal ever!!

pate 12-31-2008 08:35 PM

Fail

luci 12-31-2008 09:41 PM

You clearly haven't heard Herman Li's mind-blowing guitar solos ...

Si1v3RfaNg 12-31-2008 10:17 PM

You clearly havent heard his mindblowing guitar solos live...

pate 12-31-2008 10:32 PM

*heard his mindblowing solos pumped in over the PA

You can not dodge Daniel Heiman's vocals though. They will melt your face off.

Grumma 01-02-2009 07:11 PM
When did Firewind's live cd come out?
I have no idea. It's not even on wikipedia lol.
Pretty sure it came out last month though.

The DVD came out late Nov-early Dec so I presume the cd was out around then.

It's called Live Premonition

Deth 01-02-2009 07:13 PM

Metal Archives says November 10th.

I'm not a huge Firewind fan, I have Burning Earth but it doesn't get much play from me.

pate 01-02-2009 09:19 PM

I've seen two songs from the DVD. One of them (Into the Fire) kicks serious ***. The other is meh.

Grumma 01-02-2009 11:04 PM
I've seen two songs from the DVD. One of them (Into the Fire) kicks serious ***. The other is meh.
I quite like the cd/s.

Their songs are a bit repetitive though. They all follow basically the same pattern as I Am The Anger

BludgeonySteve 01-02-2009 11:18 PM

Allegiance was sick. Enough said.

Shattered_Future 01-02-2009 11:31 PM

Firewind was an enjoyable opener. Apollo's vocals are a tad bit annoying, but other than that the band was good, albeit not very interesting.

Grumma 01-03-2009 12:24 AM
Allegiance was sick. Enough said.
Haha. It's a good pattern to be following, but sometimes you feel they need to try something new so they don't end up like DF

shadow_stalker 01-03-2009 10:52 AM

Does anyone know what happened to Galloglass? I was never able to find out where they went to, though I seem to recall reading something about a guitarist leaving.

I love Apollo's vocals. They are very strong for Gus G's guitarwork.

OllieS 01-03-2009 01:48 PM

Apollo is very easy to listen to, which is a big plus in Power Metal IMO

BludgeonySteve 01-03-2009 06:30 PM

Which is really hard to do because Power Metal is the hardest modern music genre to sing in and even sound passable.

I've been known to put up with a kind of sucky singer because the band is good.

Grumma 01-03-2009 06:57 PM

Firewind's previous singer was pretty good too, though I do prefer Apollo.

Oh, and Pate, you'll be happy that I cleared out my local music stores Dungeon stock by getting The Final Chapter!

BludgeonySteve 01-03-2009 08:29 PM

Chitty was a beast.

You people and your Dungeon. I have yet to hear a song of theirs. Who do they sound like?

pate 01-04-2009 07:09 PM

Like the sound of an emo kid being stomped to death.

Pariah kicks ***, but the other 3 slots could have been filled with better songs.

Grumma 01-04-2009 09:07 PM

Better Man does come across as a bit cheesy lol

pate 01-04-2009 09:42 PM

I like it, but yeah they have much better songs.

Oh right. That myspace thing exists.

Sounds good. Great singer, kind of thrashy for my tastes but two or three songs in a row would be great.

Yeah if an emo kid being stomped to death sounds like anything at all, it's that.

ArcLite 01-05-2009 04:42 PM

Lord Tim > Apollo every day of the week.

Apollo bores me. I enjoyed Chitty a lot more. Take a song like Kill To Live and see how much more ass it kicks than anything since.

Arucard 01-05-2009 04:53 PM

enjoying divine fire quite alot at the moment
