Thunderbird.
www.bumwine.com or www.ghettowine.com
Do not listen to this man. Thunderbird is only for the hardest of the hardcore. I'm not sure if you could take it. I don't know anyone who could. lolololololololol |
ADIBAW were sooo good.
You saw them? |
no im just saying, they used to be so good.
I havn't heard the new stuff. I'm interested. But I love My Heroes Have Always Killed Cowboys.
Their new stuff isn't that bad either, but their old stuff definitely blows away the new stuff.
My friend tried gettin me Notes for my birthday a month ago but one of the people that work there told him its not out yet. I thought it came out months ago.
Don't listen to it. It will ruin the band for you.
i just finished watching DIG!
documentary on the brian jonestown massacre, man those guys are ****in crazy, and not very good at all. I sorta feel like my whole way of living is 100 percent more sane now after watching that... Anton Newcomb the leader is just ****ing insane. Pretty enjoyable documentary and the dandy warhols ****ing suck edit: documentary filter?? |
Yeah man, I HATE the Dandy Warhols, I think they're terrible.
I've been really getting into the screamo side of emo but I feel I've negelected 'regular' emo. I already like Embrace and Rites of Spring, so I've got that covered. I'm listening to Sunny Day Real Estate right now and I like it and I also like Cap'n Jazz, anything similar to either of those two (or Embrace and Rites of Spring) I must check out?
Indian Summer and Funeral Diner.
Already listen to both of those, and I thought Funeral Diner was on the screamo side anyway?
Eh, maybe, I don't consider them screamo though.
i am very bad with genres
I'm alright with genres, but I get confused sometimes.
I'm good with punk ones, but I'm new to the emo stuff, the only distinction I've made is if most of the singing is screaming and the music is pretty chaotic and emotional, I'd call it screamo, and more melody in the singing and music, I'd call emo, but that's just my basic defintion now.

One Last Wish. It's basically Rites of Spring. I thought it was a little more poppy than Rites, but still good. |

Screamo isn't a genre. |
Ash, stop confusing everyone with your "screamo isn't a genre" talk. We know it isn't a genre, but we will continue to say it, because it's simple and it's what we know.
Screamo isn't a genre.
So the bands that are called screamo are just emo? Is there any way differenate the two? i.e the hardcore-punk and modern hardcore seperation? |

Don't listen to him. Well, actually, listen to him, but don't. Just keep saying screamo, everyone will know what you mean if you say it. |
I know that, but I want to learn what he means, I like knowing stuff like that. I'm a music nerd.
I just call screamo, hardcore

Screamo and emo are the exact same thing. Anyone who uses the term screamo seriously sucks. Besides Neeshee. He's sweet. |
brain toad, ash is right. screamo isn't a genre. people consider it to be a different type of emo because its more chaotic, but in truth there are only a few chaotic bands, theres no need for a completely new genre just for those few bands. as a genre grows bigger, the sound becomes more experimental and with emotional hardcore there is tons of experimentation, the best example i can think of is Gospel. i personally don't like how people differentiate "emo" and "screamo" and refer to them like two different things. i just call it all emo, cause thats what it is. there's no need for "screamo"...its just ridiculous. and if you dont believe its a genre, Retiredat21, then don't use the term. the more you use it, the more you encourage it. everyone here knows the bands, just call em what they are. we don't really discuss genres here anyways...i hope that wasn't too confusing.
