I wasn't aware that he went to rehab even :/

And he also died once.
Awesome. |
Haha yeah I had heard about that on Megadeth biography. i was a megadeth fan but hadnt realized just how ****ed up mustaine had been haha... funny when they were talkin about the recording of SFSGSW and dave was so strung out he couldn't sing and play guitar at the same time.

Singing and playing isn't easy. Most people can't do it when they're perfectly normal. And mustaine did it good or maybe even better when he was drunk out of his mind. -Just a quick thing. On the Metallica thread they are discussing the essential 10 metal albums and on all of them Megadeth's Rust in Peace is mentioned. Some of them don't have metallica but they still have RiP In the metallica thread. haha. Go Megadeth:thumb: |
James Hetfield's singing > Dave Mustaine's singing
St. Anger wasn't as bad as Megadeth newest CD either but I like Megadeth as well...just not as much as Metallica Holy Wars is still 1 of the best songs ever |

St. Anger wasn't as bad as Megadeth newest CD either but I like Megadeth as well...just not as much as Metallica Holy Wars is still 1 of the best songs ever
Your got to make reasons to why James hetfields voice is better than Dave Mustain. When Dave sings, does he sing natrually or does he put it on???? |

St. Anger wasn't as bad as Megadeth newest CD either but I like Megadeth as well...just not as much as Metallica Holy Wars is still 1 of the best songs ever
I used to be like you. But I now like Megadeth more than Metallica. But I still love Metallica, just not as much as I like Megadeth. I actually think TSHF is a whole lot better than St. Anger. But anyways, I need to get So Far, So Good, So What. |

St. Anger wasn't as bad as Megadeth newest CD either but I like Megadeth as well...just not as much as Metallica
How can you say St. Anger>TSHF??? Anways I prefer Dave's singing. At least he can still sing like he could back in the day. |
Anways I prefer Dave's singing. At least he can still sing like he could back in the day.
exactly. James sounds like a dying horse at times on SA but Dave on TSHF still sounds almost exactly like dave on KIMB. Besides Dave can alter his voice and make different tones James just has his growl. Look at the difference between the voices on Dawn Patrol and Holy Wars. Now look at the difference between the voices on Master of Puppets and Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Q.E.D.-i think |
James and Dave have both sounded better at times. I dont think anyone compares to the vocals James layed down on the black album. But james however sounds horrible now, probably due to the lack of alcohol. Dave is more constant with his singing, but the re-releases of the old albums like RIP sound worse than the originals. Tornado of Souls sounds like a little gremlin singing the chorus.

I used to hate the way Dave sings in sweaing bullets...but it grew on me now.
|
sweating bullets sucks on the record. Decent live though.

I don't know but I have a thing for 'Use the Man'

Was it 15 times that Mustain went to rehab?
just for your info. i believe that he stated he only went twice. once for alcohol and once for drugs. the clinic he went to and mustaine himself claim that all the other times he went were to help others overcome their addictions. |

well if that's true then that's pretty awesome. |
Yeah everyone only talks about how much of an asshole Dave was but no one talks about what a nice guy he can be sometimes.

When he feels like it. |
With the comparison between James and Mustaine...
Mustains voice is horrible on a huge ammount of song. I heard that ...Peace Sells and Who's Buying was one of their best albums. It had some good songs, but the whole album was pretty much ruined by how horrible Dave's voice sounded on the album. I can sometimes handle Dave's vocals and actually like them, but just on that whole album it was extremely horrible to hear. I don't even know what it is about his voice that I dislike, it's just not too great on my ears. James- I like his vocals because, again I don't even know. He isn't the best vocals, but I could understand him quite easily. It was extremely easy to get into his voice because of how melodic the songs were behind (Nothing else Matters, Fade to Black, My Friend of Misery). He has a really calm voice and a really horrible St. Anger Rhaspy voice which is horrible. Either way, James>Dave- voice wise. |
Dave's voice does grow on you. How long you been listening to 'Deth?
|
Megadave is a much more consistent singer. His voice was going high live, but now it's back to normal, compared to Hetfield who can't sing decently anymore live at all.

True. Although sometimes when he sings songs like Devil's Island you can hear a difference. |
Dave's voice does grow on you. How long you been listening to 'Deth?
I have been listening them for a year or two now. Pretty long, but his voice still hasn't grown on me much. I like a lot of their later albums than their earlier stuff... |
the old stuff as a band is better. But daves vocals are better in the more recent stuff.
|
dave went to rehab 13 times each time to get over drugs never to help people and he wasnt too ****ed up to play and sing on sfsgsw it was just for the cover he done of no more mister nice guy
|

What? he can't sing decently any more? That's BS I saw him live this time last year amd he was great. And he had been on tour for quite some time at that point. Did you hear the recent show? |
