ATM 07-06-2008 09:36 PM

When you scrounge up enough money, Maryland kind bud and doom metal will be here!

That would be cool. When would be a good time to visit?

gmoneyguy 07-06-2008 10:25 PM

A bit after this upcoming semester starts. I need to find a job and get used to town.
major fail

too bad I don't live in Washington.

I wonder what the new vocalist sounds like.
I doubt it's much of a loss missing Trouble. Their new vocalist, Kory Clarke, used to be in Warrior Soul who were arse, and he was arse too.

On a brighter note, Doom Metal Inquisition V this weekend. Pagan Altar, Warning, the Lamp of Thoth, Forsaken (who I'm really looking forward to seeing), etc etc. Warning are staying at mine so I can make up for no alcohol during the gig (driving) by making a bit of a party of it after.

I like it more than the previous one, but I didn't really like it.

Angmar 07-07-2008 04:48 PM

Kyuss are elite as fuck!

Sponer 07-07-2008 05:37 PM
Kyuss are elite as fuck!
Yea I'm listening to them right now. I actually checked them out cause I remember seeing a kid I used to buy weed from listening to them, and he has pretty good taste in "stoner" music.

I don't get why they needed such longs songs. Like, I've clearly heard 2 or 3 songs start and end, yet I'm still in track one on the CD. But asides from that, it's great.

Angmar 07-07-2008 06:08 PM

I only have Blues for Red Sun but the songs average around 4 minutes, you should definitely check that out.

Sponer 07-07-2008 06:30 PM

I think the local shop had that one too, actually. I might grab it next time.

But yea, track one and three are like 18 minutes, and track two is 15 minutes. Cept, there are three songs per track. I don't get it, but it was good.

On to the Earth right now. So far so good. It's not as minimalistic as Hex, which is the only other Earth album I have.

gmoneyguy 07-07-2008 06:32 PM

Blues for the Red Sun is the only Kyuss album that doesn't suck.

I assume you're talking about Sky Valley. That album is broken up really stupidly. 12 songs broken into 4 tracks. Yay

DERSIEGDERKRIEGDERKAMPF 07-07-2008 08:41 PM

Um, Welcome to Sky Valley is clearly the best Kyuss album there is.

Sponer 07-07-2008 08:48 PM

yea i thought it was really good. i just listened to it again.

the tracklist sucks though.

masada 07-07-2008 09:09 PM

kyuss are terrible

rasputin 07-07-2008 09:12 PM

yeah I never liked them

Mine's broken up in 10 tracks

ATM 07-08-2008 08:04 AM

Boris tonight :D

pate 07-08-2008 08:09 AM

I've seen it done a bunch of different ways. It's like somebody was high when they did it...

Tyr 07-08-2008 08:47 AM

I thought some of the transitions very a bit funny, but there are other gapless albums, so I figured it must be one of those.

Sponer 07-08-2008 01:09 PM
Mine's broken up in 10 tracks
I might have a newer version or something, cause it came with a "bonus" track about licking his doo.

But then again, if I split the songs up, the bonus track would be the 10th track. So I dunno. pate's probably right.

rasputin 07-08-2008 08:24 PM

I have a cassette of Worship's Dooom, numbered 04/200, jealousssss?

gmoneyguy 07-08-2008 08:24 PM
