Bartender 12-15-2004 07:15 AM

Isn't there a link to it in Alt/Indie?

Permanent Solution 12-15-2004 07:17 AM

Taken down due to bandwidth issues I believe...having troubles either way due to that.

Bartender 12-15-2004 07:27 AM

Oh ok. My apologies.

Anyway, I'm going to bed for a few hours. See you all later tonight, except maybe you, Zep. Enjoy your time home, if I don't see you before you go.

Permanent Solution 12-15-2004 07:28 AM

Ah, later dude. Thanks :)

gmoneyguy 12-15-2004 09:30 AM

munky_magik 12-15-2004 10:19 AM

When? Where? How much?

thickasabrick 12-15-2004 10:19 AM

so talking to guitrguy about oceans 12...

i found it very confusing. if you saw the first one you won't have a problem with the second one, but i fell asleep during the first one and i missed it all.

i didn't know any of the characters, and there is alot, and its kinda tricky.

its kind of like....main guys steal something, get caught, realize they were tricked, trick the guy who tricked them, realize as they tried to trick him he was tricking them, they really did trick him, but he secretly tricked them...you get the point.

the movie jumps around a lot and explains a lot of stuff that happened during the movie at the very end. so everything wraps up at the end, but during the movie you may feel kinda lost. but other than that its a great movie.

I haven't been to see a movie in ages, no new releases seem to interest me

thickasabrick 12-15-2004 10:46 AM

k at the movie theater, there was this thing and it was like a movie stand that spins. it had a lot of good dvd's and video games on it, and you put in two dollars, and it spins...you have to press a button at the perfect time to make it stop spinning at the right time. if you win, you get whatever dvd/video game is on the bottom of the stand.

i watched this kid (about 13) put in 2 dollars, and win Halo 2, and then San Andreas, Lord of the Rings 3, Harry Pottery (3rd one it think) and Ice age. he said he has won about seven different video games in the past week.

Halo 2 for two dollars? i'm talking canadian money if it really makes a difference.

so he spent about 10 bucks, and got well over 100 bucks worth of stuff. pretty amazing.

Holy shit, I would be at that machine everyday.

thickasabrick 12-15-2004 10:50 AM

it was hard to do though, me and my friends watched about 10 other people try it and no one won. plus that kid had already won most of the good games.

but yea, i didn't have any money, just a debit card, and i was really wishing i had brought some cash.

im sure some company is losing a lot of money on that machine.

gmoneyguy 12-15-2004 10:54 AM

haha, I think more people lose then win, and that is what they are planning.

munky_magik 12-15-2004 11:12 AM

I'm surprised they didn't think of some way to rig it. Making the hole/slot for the games and dvds to fall out slightly too small would have been classic

Distant Echoes 12-15-2004 04:15 PM

I still dont get the point of rep points?

I mean, it really only goes by post counts anyway...which give the person there own reputation itself, so whats the point?

I could post 200 articles in the Drum, guitar, and bass lessons...but if my post count doesnt esceed 200, nobody knows me or will rep me.

I mean...Ive even had almost a thousand post on my last User name, but now that i have a new one...Ive instantly just lost 100s of MXers respect...or should i say "rep".

So what the hell is the point?

jpj 12-15-2004 04:18 PM

People will still rep you for good posts even if they don't know you or if you are a new member.

NP:Dragonforce-Black Winter Night :)

I still can't rep Zep for sending me a sample :(

shortass 12-15-2004 04:19 PM

Well that's the reason everyones been protesting against it. Most people just abuse it and cheat anyway so it doesn't mean anything

Arucard 12-15-2004 04:19 PM

it makes people with stars look cool, and, in some cases, intelligent.

NP: A perfect circle - The Hollow

munky_magik 12-15-2004 04:24 PM

alot of people were protesting against it as well because they thought it encouraged elitism on the forums.

Conincedentaly none of the people from that line of protest had any stars :p

Arucard 12-15-2004 04:25 PM

No-one reps me, because i have about 10 lifetime posts in the pit.
All of my 642 rep points were got in R+M, and one pointless, -30 de-rep in the pit for a gundam avatar. I just got de-repped by someone i dont know, cause they didnt leave a name, but im down 20 points.

NP: G'n'R : It's So Easy

And I have yet to see anyone with stars act like an elitest, so I don't really see where that arguement comes from.
