Heavy Metal Kid you should try to go to this. It's only like 10 bucks... and it's a small venue, if Mustaine doesn't come down, we'd at least get to meet Ellefson. Which would be awesome.
It's in San Marcos, it's a decent vacation trip, i don't like F5 that much but the chances of meeting David Ellefson are big(it's a small venue right?)

Bazarov 06-01-2006 05:21 PM

Yeah man, it's small. And if you go, yes you will be able to meet Ellefson, there's no back stage or anything, he'll have to walk through the crowd to get up on stage and stuff, and I don't think he'd sit in his vehicle to hide from fans until it was his time to go up on stage.. or will he?

heavy metal kid 06-01-2006 05:28 PM

Maybe, when the band is big, they usually enter until they have to play(even if the venue is a crappy bar). But I doubt he's gonna do that.

Bazarov 06-01-2006 05:35 PM

Well, I've seen Cryptopsy and Agent Steel at that venue both of those bands were just sitting down mingling with the crowd, but who knows. TJ is quite a bit of a drive to get to San Marcos though....

I hope this Rattlehead band isn't crappy though, I'm going to be expecting a lot from them.

heavy metal kid 06-01-2006 05:44 PM

Usually, the tributes bands aren't crappy. I hope they aren't.

eug008 06-02-2006 12:01 AM

Tribute bands.... pffffttt

eug008 06-03-2006 11:22 PM

When about is this thing on anyway

ooooh anyone heard any Rattlehead? what Deth era do they cover? (the early, it would seem, in consistency with their name)

Meatplow 06-04-2006 03:39 PM

Listening to Peace Sells quite a lot lately.
Listening to Peace Sells quite a lot lately.
good. so have i. i've listened to it to the stage where i know the exact point at which the next song comes in, and the note with which it starts

Meatplow 06-04-2006 04:02 PM

Thanx frogs and nice to meet ya's.

Awesome @ Rattlehead. Damn fine album, can't say i've heard much else by them though aside from Cryptic Writings and a handful of their most popular songs.

I have no idea, but I'll be seeing them this Saturday, and I'll be meeting Ellefson as well. I'll have to post pics. But I don't have a digital camera so I'll have to wait till film is developed.

eug008 06-07-2006 12:58 AM

Sounds cool

It's my favourite 'deth album.
I think it's underrated.

Drone 06-07-2006 09:58 AM

It is pretty underrated. I actually enjoy all of the songs from it, but that is because I am a huge Megadeth whore, haha! I wish they would give us some sort of new song snippet or at least something to keep up with Metallica and Slayer!

Lord Abortion 06-07-2006 10:03 AM

Yeah, but Metallica have sucked since 1986, and Slayer have sucked since 1990(Seasons?) and Megadeth rule ALL the time.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-07-2006 10:06 AM

I honestly haven't heard enough 90's Megadeth to judge. I haven't heard anything between RIP and TWNAH.

outside a bunch of random songs of course.

Father 06-07-2006 10:10 AM

nah its better this way .... If i hear a bit and it souds good then i might die with the anticipation for th whole thing.

EDIT - To Drone

Drone 06-07-2006 11:32 AM

Yeah, I guess I can agree with that. OK then, he should announce the Gigantour bands! :p

Jev 06-07-2006 11:39 AM

I'm sure we won't have to wait too long to hear some new Megadeth stuff.

Drone 06-07-2006 01:14 PM

I imagine it will be around September.

Bazarov 06-07-2006 03:43 PM

I'd take God Hates us All or St. Anger over that filth Risk, anytime, but I get what you're saying.

eug008 06-07-2006 04:36 PM

Megadeth did release about 1 or 2 **** albums

Father 06-08-2006 06:11 AM

I was listening to "A secret place" and the part from 3:58 to 4:03 sounds like that part from an avril lavinge song.

Yeah, I hate the direction Metallica went after they gave up on thrash, about halfway through AJFA.
And Slayer are a little meh for me, especially when you get to say, oh, whatever the one with the really gay, Pantera-esque name was?

Chu 06-08-2006 09:10 PM
It's my favourite 'deth album.

I knew it.

'Tis indeed an awesome album, my favourite Megadeth album, and my 2nd favourite album of all time (Behind Ride The Lightning, which Mustaine had a part in writing anyway)
