NewKindofArmy03 03-14-2005 10:59 PM

Some thread asking for melodic metalcore bands. I found it somewhere in archives.

shane italiano 03-15-2005 12:06 AM
EVERYBODY TELLS ME I'M CLOSED MINDED
The only song I've heard from them. It's good though.

BuddyBigsby 03-15-2005 12:06 AM

Haha, me too. God bless Punk-O-Rama.

shane italiano 03-15-2005 12:08 AM

I still want to hear more from the Beatsteaks. I've heard like 2 or 3 songs from them thanks to Punk O Rama.

By the way, I love What Feeds The Fire no matter how much of an Ensign rip off they are.

I was away for a few days... I feel out of the loop.

7 Seconds/Champion/KYI was really good last night. Champion had a short-ish set, but they played "In My Eyes" which was awesome. 7 Seconds was good too--I only have Walk Together, Rock Together and "Young 'Til I Die" so there were only a few (5-6) songs I sung along too.

Don't worry. It was good, but no where near as good as last week was. It's a lot harder to get on stage at The Knitting Factory. Also, I was one of the youngest people there--I'm 18.

It's nice to see 7 Seconds still alive and kickin' it. Kevin's voice still sounds the same as Walk Together, Rock Together, etc. Even though I have only gotten into them within the past year, It was really cool to see a band live that helped pioneer positive hardcore.

Once Champion started playing the intro to "In My Eyes" I got really really happy. Then Jim stopped for a second to introduce the song and they went into the whole thing. I've never heard of them doing Minor Threat covers either. It was a really nice surprise. There were a few songs off Promises Kept I wish they would have played though. Also, "Assume The Worst" and "The Insider" would have been nice too. I can't wait to see them in June.

I read the "State of Hardcore in '05" thing in AP, it's pretty awesome for being in AP. The picture of Tony Brummel is hilarious.

young, loud and andrew 03-15-2005 04:27 PM

I subscribe to AP and was very happy to see that article.

They had a little thing on Boy's Life and Indian Summer in the back of last month's issue.

And a few references to Page. 99, methinks.

Yeah, since I am not a hardcore kid by nature, but I'm trying to listen to it a whole lot more, I really liked it. I plan on checking out almost all of those bands, even though some I had already heard of, like Throwdown and Champion and Comeback Kid. I already have most of the pics on my wall
